🌸 When and How Was Reiki Born?

Did you know that Reiki has its roots in Japan? 🇯🇵✨

Reiki, in the form we know today, was developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui (Usui Sensei).

In 1922, Usui undertook a 21-day retreat on Mount Kurama, where, according to tradition, he experienced a spiritual awakening and discovered a way of working with energy that he later called Reiki.

The word Reiki comes from Japanese:
🌿 Rei – universal or spiritual
🌿 Ki – life energy

Usui began teaching Reiki and passing his knowledge on to his students. One of the key teachers who helped spread Reiki outside Japan was Chujiro Hayashi. Later, Hawayo Takata played an important role in bringing Reiki to the West, particularly to the United States, where it gradually became known around the world. 🌎

✨ Reiki is not a religion.

For many people, it is a practice that supports relaxation, inner peace and a sense of balance and wellbeing.

Today, Reiki is practised in many countries and through different traditions.
