Sacre Coeur Nursing Home

Our artists visited the 6's and 7's Gallery to view their art work on display in the Art Exhibition last week. The residents were fascinated to see their art in frames displayed on the wall. We thank Gerry for welcoming us to Gallery tea and biscuits enjoyed by the residents. We look forward to Gerry returning to Sacre Coeur later in the year.

As part of Bealtaine 2026 celebrating the arts and ageing, Gerry Carew, local artist, art therapist and owner of 6's and 7's Gallery on Davis Street in Tipperary Town has hosted weekly workshops in Sacre Coeur with our residents. The residents have enjoyed working with Gerry to produce beautiful pieces of art using different art techniques.
We thank Gerry for her help and guidance over the last few weeks. An Exhibition with the theme sounding images will be held on Friday 29th May 2026 in the Art Gallery.

We are looking forward to the return of Woolly of Irish Therapy Dogs this Friday. We are delighted to be a participant in the Pet Visiting Programme. The residents enjoyed his company last Wednesday.

We welcomed Creative Keys Piano studio to the Nursing Home this week to perform a Valentine's Piano Recital. Tamas's wonderful performance wooed the residents and staff. Zoe visited with Arlo, the residents are always delighted to meet our furry friends when they visit. We were busy with games today throwing the hoops and bean bags.

It was a busy week with St Brigid's Cross making with Jasmine, the return of Kathleen and today our local musicians entertained the residents. Jasmine made the St. Brigid Cross in traditional Donegal style with the residents, each helping to make their own.

We were delighted to welcome CJ Kickham Band to the Nursing Home to perform for our residents. The residents loved listening to and singing the Christmas songs with the band.

A Very Special Lady Anne celebrated her HUNDRED AND SECOND BIRTHDAY (102) on Wednesday this week . Anne had a lovely party surrounded by her family staff and friends. Kieran and Alan ,Slim Boys entertained everyone with music and dancing.
Anne herself said she feels like she is in her twenties!
