💧 Hydration Month at REVEAL: What Are You Taking With You?
As Hydration Month comes to an end, we’re looking back at the simple reminders, skincare tips and everyday habits we’ve shared throughout August.
Hydration isn’t about drinking a large amount of water occasionally or following a perfect routine. It’s supported by small, regular choices that become a natural part of your day.
Here are some of our favourite reminders to take with you:
💧 Start your morning with water
Have a glass before your morning coffee to begin replacing fluids after sleep.
🫗 Keep water visible
A reusable bottle on your desk, in the car or beside you throughout the day is much easier to remember.
🥒 Hydration can come from food too
Cucumber, oranges, watermelon, strawberries and other water-rich foods can contribute to your overall fluid intake.
⏰ Create simple reminders
Pair water with meals, refill your bottle when it’s empty or set a gentle hourly reminder until regular sipping becomes more automatic.
🧴 Support your skin from the outside
Apply a hydrating serum to slightly damp skin, follow with moisturiser and look for ingredients that help attract, replenish and seal in hydration.
🌿 Notice what affects your skin
Warm weather, air conditioning, heating, travel and changes in routine can all influence how hydrated and comfortable your skin feels.
Most importantly, hydration doesn’t need to be all or nothing. One glass, one refill or one extra reminder still counts. Choose the habits that fit naturally into your life and carry them forward beyond Hydration Month.
Thank you for joining us throughout the month. We hope you’ve found a few simple hydration tips to add to your routine—both for your body and your skin.
What hydration habit are you taking with you? 💦

✨ The REVEAL Approach to Wellness
At REVEAL, wellness means caring for the whole person—body, mind and soul. It isn’t something to consider only when you feel depleted or overwhelmed. It’s an everyday practice that supports you through life’s demands.
Here are the seven pillars of our wellness approach:
🧰 Your wellness toolkit
Keep a few tools you can use when you feel stressed, overwhelmed or low: box breathing, the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method, journalling, mindful colouring, meditation or a quiet walk. Different moments may need different tools.
💤 Sleep
Good-quality sleep supports physical and emotional wellbeing. Aim for a regular routine and around seven to nine hours where possible. Poor sleep can leave you depleted and make daily pressures harder to manage.
🥗 Nutrition and hydration
Nourish your body and mind with regular meals, varied foods and enough water. Don’t become so busy caring for everything else that your own basic needs are forgotten.
🚶 Movement
Walk, stretch, practise yoga, cycle, dance or go to the gym—choose movement you enjoy. It can offer a break from daily pressures while supporting your body, mood and wellbeing.
💬 Social connection
We all need our people. Make time for friends and family, while remembering you don’t have to accept every invitation. Connection matters, but so does recognising when you need quiet or rest.
🛑 Boundaries
You are allowed to say no when you’re exhausted, unable to take something on or need time for yourself—without guilt. Protecting your time and energy is part of wellness.
💚 Rest and self-care
Don’t empty your own cup by continually filling everyone else’s. Make time for rest, hobbies, laughter and whatever helps you feel like yourself. Self-care belongs throughout the year—not only when you reach your limit.
Wellness is multi-layered. It’s how sleep, nourishment, movement, connection, boundaries, rest and everyday coping tools work together to support you.
Know your pillars. Build your toolkit. Keep filling your cup. That is the REVEAL approach to wellness. 🌿

💧 A JOURNEY THROUGH THE GLYMPHATIC SYSTEM
If we could follow cerebrospinal fluid through the brain, where would it go—and what would happen along the way?
1️⃣ THE JOURNEY BEGINS
The brain and spinal cord are surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid, or CSF. This clear liquid cushions, protects and supports them.
2️⃣ ENTERING THE BRAIN
CSF enters spaces surrounding the brain’s arteries. From here, it exchanges with the fluid found around the brain’s cells.
3️⃣ AN ACTIVE BRAIN
The brain is always working. Its cells communicate, use energy, transport materials and carry out repairs.
Like all active cells, this normal activity produces metabolic waste—material that is no longer needed.
4️⃣ COLLECTING THE WASTE
As fluid moves through the spaces around brain cells, it helps collect soluble waste and excess material.
This can include everyday cellular by-products and excess proteins such as beta-amyloid and tau.
Both proteins occur naturally in the brain. Tau supports the internal transport system of nerve cells, while beta-amyloid is a fragment created when a larger protein is broken down.
They are not automatically harmful. Researchers study what happens when altered or excessive amounts accumulate rather than being cleared normally.
5️⃣ MOVING TOWARDS THE EXIT
Now carrying waste, the fluid moves towards spaces surrounding the brain’s veins.
From there, it reaches drainage routes outside the brain, where the body can continue processing the collected material.
The glymphatic system is not quite an overnight “detox” or washing machine for the brain. It is a specialised fluid pathway helping maintain a healthy environment around brain cells.
Its activity appears to change across the sleep–wake cycle. However, research into exactly how it works—particularly in humans—is still developing.
💡 DID YOU KNOW?
The name “glymphatic” combines GLY, from the glial cells that help guide the flow, with its LYMPHATIC-like clearing role.
Another remarkable process quietly taking place behind the scenes. 🧠

✨ The REVEAL Approach to Skincare
At REVEAL, skincare has never been about simply treating what we see on the surface. It’s about caring for the person and understanding the many factors that can influence their skin.
Here is our guide to looking after your skin as a whole:
🧴 Products
Build a consistent routine suited to your skin. Begin with cleanser, moisturiser and daily SPF. Introduce targeted ingredients individually—more products don’t always mean better results.
✨ Professional treatments
Treatments can support specific concerns and complement your home routine, but they don’t replace daily care. Choose treatments based on what your skin needs—not simply what is trending.
💤 Sleep
Rest gives your body time to recover. A regular evening routine can also help you cleanse properly and complete your skincare before bed.
🧠 Stress
Notice whether stressful periods coincide with breakouts, sensitivity or flare-ups. If your skin is unsettled, focus on gentle support rather than introducing several strong products.
🌸 Hormones
Puberty, menstrual cycles, pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause can affect the skin. Track recurring patterns and seek professional advice for sudden, persistent or painful changes.
💧 Hydration and nutrition
Drink regularly, include water-rich foods and enjoy a varied, balanced diet. No single food, supplement or drink creates perfect skin—the overall pattern matters.
🌿 Lifestyle and environment
Wear SPF, cleanse after heavy perspiration and consider how weather, heating, air conditioning, movement and everyday habits may affect your skin.
Skincare is multi-layered. Products and treatments matter—but so do sleep, stress, hormones, hydration, nutrition, lifestyle and environment.
Now you know the REVEAL method, you have a guide to carry forward. When your skin changes, look at the whole picture—not only the product shelf.
Listen to your skin. Understand what may be influencing it. Support the person as a whole. That is the REVEAL approach. 💚

🗺️ Maps Change. Plans Evolve.
When you first set out on a journey, you may feel certain about the road you’re going to take.
You make a plan, choose a direction and imagine exactly how you’ll reach your destination.
But maps change.
Some roads no longer exist.
Some are temporarily closed.
Some are rebuilt.
And sometimes, completely new routes appear that weren’t available when you first began.
Life can be like that too.
The plan you made years ago was based on who you were, what you knew and what was available to you at that time. As life changes—and as you grow—it’s natural for your plans to evolve too.
Taking a different route doesn’t mean you’ve failed, lost your way or abandoned the journey. It may simply mean you’ve recognised that another road suits you better now.
Sometimes the alternative route is longer. Sometimes it includes unexpected turns, pauses or a little uncertainty. But it can also introduce you to opportunities, people and experiences you would never have discovered on the original road.
You’re allowed to:
✨ Reconsider the route
✨ Change the timeline
✨ Choose a different direction
✨ Take a break and check the map
✨ Create a new destination altogether
A plan is there to guide you—not trap you.
Stay connected to what matters to you, remain open to what unfolds and allow the route to change when it needs to.
Journeys change. Plans evolve. Keep moving forward. 💚

🧠 Brain Teaser Time: The Stroop Test
Ready to give your brain a little challenge?
Look at the graphic and say the colour the word is written in—not the word itself.
For example, if the word BLUE is written in red, your answer is red.
The Stroop Test challenges your brain because reading a familiar word happens automatically. You must pause that automatic response, ignore what the word says and concentrate on the colour you can see.
Puzzles and brain teasers give our minds a healthy workout. They encourage different areas of the brain to communicate, challenge us to form and strengthen mental connections, and keep us actively using important cognitive skills.
Regularly challenging your brain can:
✨ Exercise memory and attention
✨ Sharpen logic and problem-solving
✨ Build patience and perseverance
✨ Support mental flexibility
✨ Create a sense of satisfaction when the answer clicks
✨ Offer an enjoyable break from everyday stress
✨ Contribute to keeping the brain active and engaged over time
Brain teasers aren’t a test of intelligence—the benefit comes from giving your brain something different to work through.
So, how well did you do?
🟢 Flew through it
🟡 Hesitated a few times
🔴 My brain kept reading the words!
Challenge a friend and see who can complete it with the fewest hesitations. 👇

💧 7 Everyday Hydration Habits
Staying hydrated doesn’t have to mean drinking large amounts of water all at once. Small, simple habits throughout the day can make hydration feel much easier and more natural.
Here are 7 realistic hydration habits to try:
💫1. Have water first thing in the morning
Drink a glass of water before your morning coffee to begin replacing fluids after sleep.
💫2. Keep a reusable water bottle within sight
Choose one that’s easy to carry and refill. Keep it on your desk, in the car or beside you throughout the day—water that’s visible is much easier to remember.
💫3. Eat high-water foods
Hydration can come from food too. Snack on cucumber, oranges, watermelon, strawberries or other water-rich fruits and vegetables.
💫S4. et hydration reminders
Use phone alerts to remind yourself to take a few sips every hour. After a while, regularly reaching for your water may begin to feel more automatic.
💫5. Pair water with meals
Have a full glass of water with each meal. Linking hydration to something you already do every day makes it easier to remember.
💫6. Apply hydration to damp skin
After showering or washing your face, apply a hydrating serum—such as hyaluronic acid—to slightly damp skin, followed by moisturiser to help seal that hydration in and leave your skin feeling soft and plump.
💫7. Carry a hydrating face mist
Keep a skin mist or hydrating spritz in your bag for refreshing top-ups throughout the day. A quick spritz can help your skin feel fresh and comfortable—especially in warm weather, air-conditioned rooms or after travelling.
You don’t need to introduce all seven habits at once. Choose one small change that fits naturally into your day and focus on doing it consistently.
💦 Which everyday hydration habit are you going to try today?

🌿 Could You Benefit from Low-Stim Living?
Low-stim living is about intentionally reducing some of the unnecessary noise, rushing and constant stimulation in everyday life.
It doesn’t mean avoiding people, technology or everything you enjoy. It simply means creating small pockets of calm where your mind isn’t being asked to watch, listen, respond, scroll and multitask all at once.
Modern life can be a lot: notifications, bright screens, background television, busy spaces, packed schedules and the pressure to always be available. Even when we’re physically resting, our brains can still be processing information.
Introducing lower-stimulation moments may help you feel:
✨ Less mentally cluttered and overwhelmed
✨ Calmer and more present
✨ Better able to focus on one thing
✨ More aware of what your body needs
✨ Ready to rest and switch off more easily
10 low-stim habits to try:
Wait 15–30 minutes before checking your phone in the morning.
Eat one meal without your phone, television or other distractions.
Take a short walk without music, a podcast or headphones.
Complete one task at a time instead of constantly switching between several.
Turn off non-essential phone notifications.
Use softer lamps in the evening instead of bright overhead lighting.
Allow a few quiet minutes in the car before automatically turning on the radio.
Leave a little more time between plans so you don’t always feel rushed.
Choose one small area to declutter—your desk, handbag or bedside table.
Create a slower evening transition with fewer screens, gentle stretching, reading or a few quiet breaths.
You don’t have to completely change your routine or do all ten at once. Choose one that feels manageable and notice how you feel.
Low-stim living isn’t about making life smaller—it’s about creating enough quiet to be present for it. 💚

🧩 Life Is Like a Crossword Puzzle
Sometimes the answer comes to you immediately. Other times, you can stare at the same blank spaces and feel as though nothing fits.
You might need a hint.
You might need to approach it from a different direction.
You might need to leave that part for now and return to it later.
Or perhaps another word needs to fall into place first, giving you the letter you were missing all along.
Life can feel like that too.
We don’t always have the answers straight away. We can place pressure on ourselves to know exactly what we’re doing, where we’re going and how everything will work out—but some things only become clear with time, experience and a little help.
A pause doesn’t mean you’re stuck.
Asking for a hint doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
Changing direction doesn’t mean you’re lost.
And not having every answer today doesn’t mean you won’t find it.
Sometimes you simply need to focus on what you do know and allow the rest to reveal itself gradually.
One answer can create a clue for the next. One small step can bring a little more clarity. Eventually, the pieces that once felt disconnected begin to cross, connect and make sense.
So, if you can’t find the answer today, don’t force it. Take a breath, try another direction or come back with fresh eyes.
It may all fall into place sooner than you think. 💚

✨ Stay the course ✨
Change doesn’t happen overnight—and progress rarely arrives all at once.
One healthy meal won’t completely reset your body.
One workout won’t suddenly make you athletic.
One glass of water won’t keep you hydrated forever.
One day of wearing SPF won’t protect your skin every day.
But each positive choice still matters.
The meal supports your body.
The workout builds your strength.
The water helps you feel and function better.
The SPF protects your skin that day.
Choose one manageable habit and focus on returning to it consistently. When it begins to feel natural, you can build from there. Small, repeated choices gradually become habits—and those habits create progress. 🌱
Of course, there will be days when things don’t go to plan. One difficult day, missed workout, forgotten skincare routine or slip-up doesn’t erase everything you’ve already achieved.
You haven’t failed. You’re human.
Try not to beat yourself up or spend too long dwelling on it. You don’t need to “start over” on Monday, next month or when life feels perfectly organised. Simply return to your one small habit with the next choice available to you.
Consistency doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly. It means gently returning to what supports you—again and again, in whatever way you can.
One small change. One manageable habit. One positive choice at a time.
Keep going. Keep returning. Stay the course. 💚
