Why?

A hyperactive mentalis muscle disqualifies you from having chin volumisation. First, the muscle needs to be relaxed before the chin can be modelled. The reason is excessive activity of the mentalis muscle, which causes tension that changes the texture of the skin and makes the chin look like orange peel.

This is an indication for the use of botulinum toxin – it allows the muscle to relax, making the chin look more harmonious, reducing the tension and eliminating the orange-peel appearance.

And if you have already had chin modelling performed, botulinum toxin is also indicated to help prevent filler migration (detachment from the periosteum), which can result in a hanging, icicle-like appearance.
