Stage 3 apprentice of the year nominee Ben Tynan

Ben works in Rustiq in Kilkenny where he is absolutely thriving and embracing all aspects of his training.

“I’m delighted to be nominated for apprentice of the year, I love being part of the team in Rustiq and I have such a supportive boss and mentor behind me. I am working hard to hone my skills in all aspects of my craft, I am a Curly Co specialist and I love travelling to Brown Thomas and Arnotts for our demonstrations. I recently spoke on the heroes stage at the World Skills in the RDS and I can really see how much my confidence has grown”

Stage 3 Apprentice of the Year nominee Simon Smith

Simon is still on a high having just won the hairdressing category at World Skills Ireland. 🏆 it’s an honour and a privilege to be nominated for apprentice of the year.

“I’ve been hairdressing for three years now and have been lucky enough to do so many incredible things, build my skills, grow my career and meet so many amazing people. I currently work with an amazing team and boss in Foxylocks Clonmel and I am enjoying every second of it. Some of the highlights of my apprenticeship so far have been winning 1st place in the Cork schools competition for the fantasy mannequin category. I represented the college in an Erasmus in the Netherlands and placed 3rd in the competition over there. I worked alongside Marina Hayes at the FarmaVita showcase in Waterford and really enjoyed the experience. I can’t wait to grow more and experience everything this industry has to offer”
