Different wavelengths of light pe*****te the skin at different depths and interact with specific cellular targets called chromophores.

🔵 BLUE LIGHT — 401 nm
Blue light targets C. acnes, the bacteria associated with inflammatory acne. It can help create an environment that is less favourable for bacterial activity and therefore support the reduction of inflammatory breakouts.

🔴 RED LIGHT — 661 nm
Red light pe*****tes deeper and supports the skin’s repair and anti-inflammatory processes. It can help reduce redness and inflammation while supporting recovery of the skin after active breakouts.

🟣 NEAR-INFRARED — 850 nm
Near-infrared light reaches deeper tissue and works primarily at a cellular level. It supports mitochondrial activity and cellular recovery, making it particularly useful for repair, regeneration and restoring stressed skin.

🧬 WHAT HAPPENS INSIDE THE CELL?

When therapeutic light reaches the skin, photons are absorbed by cellular chromophores — particularly cytochrome c oxidase within the mitochondria.

This can stimulate mitochondrial activity and increase the production of ATP — the energy currency of the cell.

More available cellular energy helps support processes involved in:

• tissue repair
• cellular regeneration
• modulation of inflammation
• improved recovery
• healthier skin function
