How to Use Japanese Makeup

You should learn how to apply makeup the Japanese way. All you need to do is to remember, and follow, these steps.

I. Clean Your Face Thoroughly – You need to wash your face thoroughly with a good face wash and then use a deep pore cleanser and toner.

II. Moisturize Your Skin – Rub a little moisturizer onto your skin. This will keep it hydrated and prevent your makeup from becoming cakey or dry.

III. Apply Foundation – To make sure that your makeup remains intact on your skin, you need to create a perfect base for it. Use a yellow-tinted foundation that matches your skin tone, applying drops of it on your eyes, chin, cheeks, nose and forehead.

IV. Line Your Eyes – Using a sharpened pencil eyeliner, outline your top lash line from the inner corner to the center. After that, draw on your waterline to define your eyes further.

V. Fill in Eye Shadow – Using an eye shadow brush, or a q-tip, apply an eye shadow color which complements your skin tone. Make sure not to go over the crease, and to blend the eye shadow with your eyeliner.

VI. Reapply Eyeliner and Use Mascara – To make the eyeliner more defined, once again, re-outline your eyes with the pencil. Afterwards, use mascara on both your top and bottom lashes.

Camel Milk Cosmetics

Don't be surprised if you see an influx of camel's milk-based products on your beauty shelves in the near future. Thanks to its natural moisturizing and softening properties, camel's milk as a beauty ingredient is on the rise.

Not only does camel's milk make for more moisturized and supple skin, it's also said to have anti-aging benefits--thanks to elastin, vitamin C and lanolin--and soothing properties that help treat inflamed or irritated skin. Some are even using it as a natural treatment for psoriasis. Cool, huh?

Four of the best Asian beauty trends to try.

1. Face Essences
The very latest crossover AB (Asian beauty) product you must know about is called an “essence”. A clear liquid that works like a treatment, delivering a concentrated dose of hydrators, antioxidants and vitamins into the skin.

2. Sheet Masks
OK, let’s face it.. wearing one of these may look a little scary (and even scare away small children!) but for skincare aficionados, the results are well worth the risk. A sheet mask comes in the form of a cloth, usually made from soft cotton, that is pre-cut to match the curve of your face (usually one size fits all). They’re sold several to a box, each individually packaged—and that’s because the mask itself is soaked in a serum or essence.

3. CC Creams
First, there were BB creams, a.k.a. “beauty balms,” tinted moisturizers with skincare ingredients that were originally developed to protect and conceal skin after surgery. But recently, they’ve been over-shadowed by a new and improved sister product that you may have heard about: CC creams! Still wondering what’s the difference? CC stands for “colour-correcting,” which means these next-gen hybrids go a step further than BBs at correcting problems such as dullness, redness and uneven tone.

4. Blur Creams
No Asian-inspired beauty regimen is complete without a dab of blur cream. Here, they’re more likely to go under the name “skin perfecter,” and they do just that—give the skin a more perfected look by blurring out pores, fine lines and wrinkles. A blur cream should be the final step in your skincare, before you put on makeup.
