Field transplantation is now starting across our farmer clusters.

If weather conditions remain favourable, harvesting and distillation are expected ~ 𝟲𝟱–𝟳𝟬 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, with fresh crop availability expected around 𝗦𝗲𝗽–𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

However, one factor will remain important: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀

Basil cultivation requires careful water management. The major challenge is not simply whether there is more or less rain. The real challenge is 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹:

• Long dry periods
• Followed by sudden heavy rainfall

Such conditions can affect plant growth, crop health, harvesting schedules, and oil production.

This is why our farmer clusters continue to closely monitor field conditions and weather patterns throughout the crop cycle.

• 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝗹: India’s peppermint oil exports hit $70M in 2025. Buyers here actively demand natural profiles over synthetics.
• 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱: In Rampur and Barabanki, diversified farmers secured healthy yields and predictable prices. Neighbors are already preparing to switch next season.

The workshop brought together scientists, farmers, industry leaders, distillation unit owners, and policymakers to discuss the achievements, challenges, and future opportunities in India's medicinal and aromatic plants sector.

During the discussions, Mr. Manendra Singh shared suggestions and industry perspectives on farmer empowerment, market linkages, quality improvement, value addition, and building a more sustainable and transparent essential oils ecosystem.
