ng spent countless hours honing my makeup skills in front of the laptop, I started to experiment with the people around me, thus commencing this exciting journey into the world of fashion and beauty. As I worked toward changing the way a person looked, I came to realise that this is what drives me and that this is where I should be. Soon, I started scouting for a good makeup class in Chennai. I found the right place to start my professional journey with Mesmereyes Makeup class. Akrithi Sachdev, a MAC certified makeup artist, helped me divulge into the world of beauty. To further expand my knowledge, I participated in workshops conducted by Ojas Rajani, a celebrity makeup artist from India and travelled to Singapore to undertake lessons from Jastina Makeup Artistry. Having decided my career path, I started practicing my theoretical knowledge on my friends and family members. After class makeup sessions was my way of working out and it paid off. The smile a beautiful face can project was more than satisfying and warm. By the time I graduated, I was confident of my skills thus allowing me to start my own Preethi Makeup Artistry. Working on Indian skins is exciting due to the spectrum of shades and skin types we have within India. As the company grew, my client base increased with a variety of ladies from different walks and places of India. Each client had their own skin needs and attention and this challenge allowed me to further understand the importance of skin care for a good makeup look. When it comes to beauty industry, there are so many makeup products in the industry. To choose the best for the clients, was the most trickiest part. With lot of research and trails, I found the best products that will suit the Indian skin tones and types. As the products grew in the market, I started updating myself with the list of new makeup items that can be used for the Indian skin. Makeup mantra
Having worked across different skin types and tones, I believe in finding the best suited product for the client. My care to detail and attention to client’s preference has allowed me to bond with Indian clients with different makeup needs. With feedback, I also realised that my eye makeup earns me brownie points! Currently, I have been focusing on turning all the bride-to-bes turn into divas and beauty goddess on their big D-day. Bridal makeup is my favourite part of the job. Apart from Bridals, I also actively participate in makeup for fashion shoots for various photographers in the city. My inspiration and career began with YouTube. As a way of staying connected with my first love, YouTube, I started of with my own Youtube channel. This is my platform to share my knowledge about makeup trail and errors.
