A sustainable skincare treasure trove from the Himalayan region of Sikkim

Agapi was born out of the soul of Rinzing Choden Bhutia, a native of the Bhutia tribe of Sikkim who - one day - upon return to her family homestay, was moved by the plight of local, marginalized women in her community. Agapi was born out of her "responsibility and duty to give back" and to strengthen women, similar to her, to gain financial and societal independence, as she puts it.

- The focus of the project, today, is to continue building on a dream of becoming a leading natural skincare brand in North-east India

- It seeks to establish itself as a skincare brand and as a powerful means of women empowerment in Sikkim's lush, organic terrain.

- It seeks to correct environmental wrongs such as a high carbon footprint, unfair labor practices, and animal cruelty in these businesses.

- Agapi plans to change the fact that there are limited livelihood opportunities for women in Sikkim.

- It also wants to overturn the fact that there is, still, very little social and economic inclusion of tribal communities in the state, and country.

- It does this by formulating, manufacturing, and selling handcrafted skin care products with organic, natural and indigenous ingredients sourced locally from smallholding farmers in Sikkim.

- In the process of realizing independence for women, it provides skill development training to vulnerable and marginalized women in handcrafting skin care products.

- It looks towards launching a collective of 100+ sustainable beauty and fashion micro-entrepreneurs of North East India

- Agapi aims to integrate itself into the mainstream and prove that sustainable, gender-inclusive, tribal-community-empowering businesses are possible: it has taken a step towards this by participating in the G20 Summit 2023, among others.

We’re pleased to announce that Agapi is now entering Bhutan.

This step is made possible through our partnership with someone we deeply respect, and whose sincerity and clarity of vision made this collaboration feel effortless.

As a brand rooted in the Himalayas, this expansion feels both natural and meaningful. With bringing Agapi to Bhutan, we’re excited to build something thoughtful and long-term in a market that feels close to home.

We look forward to growing in Bhutan with intention, care, and purpose.

This is just the beginning.

Somewhere between these Tea gardens and your shelves is everything we care about 🌿

And with a community that keeps choosing us, again and again, that means more than anything.

Grateful, always

Have you ever noticed how being in the mountains stays with you?
Agapi is an everyday reminder of that feeling—something you carry with you everyday.

Our mountains are beautiful.
But they’re not always gentle— cold winds, dry air, changing weather. Good for the soul, but your skin needs care.
So we made something that understands.

So we made something that understands.
Shea Face & Body Butter, from the mountains.

Hands. Brain. Heart. 🤍

Marco Pierre White defined an artist as someone who uses all three. At Agapi, we don’t just manufacture, we craft. From the high-altitude harvests to the final jar, every drop of our skincare is a work of Himalayan art.

Fine lines don’t need aggression.
They need intelligence.✨

Our Wild Himalayan Guras works as nature’s retinol alternative, improving elasticity, refining texture, and supporting collagen gently.

No harsh synthetic actives.
No barrier damage.
Just high-altitude botanicals doing what they’ve done for centuries.

Ageing is natural.
Your skincare should respect that.
