I’ll say it….

Just 10 minutes of Lego can do more for your child’s brain than an hour of most “educational” toys, apps or books and I say that as someone who has used Lego extensively at workplace to train and coach multiple teams and individuals.

In those 10 minutes, your kid is holding an idea in their mind and figuring out how to build it - that’s working memory and planning, right there.

They’re searching through a pile for one exact piece - that’s focus and visual discrimination quietly training itself.

Something collapses, they rebuild it differently - that’s resilience and problem-solving.

So the next time you’ve got 10 minutes, just pull out a Lego set and build something with your kids.

We’ve been using the classic Lego set and loving it.

Whining can drive you up the wall - it’s tough, and some days it tests every bit of patience you have. But that’s exactly where we need thick skin: to stay calm, hold the line, and do the right thing anyway.

We think of nonfiction as something that comes later after the storybooks, once they’re “old enough” to handle facts or maybe something that will obviously be covered in school.

But R’s first nonfiction book was a book about YOGA, and I still remember how her whole face changed when she saw me doing it the next day.

Like suddenly she knows something which is REAL.

Toddlers are already scientists. They want to know what a worm feels like, why the moon changes shape, how a caterpillar becomes something else entirely.

Nonfiction doesn’t compete with imagination it feeds it differently. It tells them the world itself is worth being curious about, not just the make-believe parts of it.

Starting young means they grow up seeing “real” books and “story” books as the same shelf, not two separate categories where one is fun and the other is homework.

No pressure to understand everything.
Just look at the pictures, ask questions, let them lead.

Sach mein, kabhi kabhi ek photo hi kaafi hoti hai to plant a seed.

Combos that I use to keep switching our night time books stand.

We usually read 3 books at nighttime.

I always add a non-fiction book, sometimes 2, and sometimes we choose it together.

Kids love anything read with love and curiosity

You don’t need fancy encyclopedias.

A picture book about animals, insects, the human body, the sky anything real, anything true is enough to start with.

You don’t need to wait to introduce your toddlers to SCIENCE.

These simple everyday activities are a big window into science. Use these opportunities to talk about it.

Introduce a simple concept with each activity.

For eg - with the sink and float activity - introduce concepts of material - metal, plastic, soft, hard , bendable etc.
Introduce shapes and matter - round, hollow, square and so on.

Save and share the next time you are searching “google” on what to do with your toddlers.

Comment “science” if you’d like a list of such activities that I setup for R.

Happy learning :)

Nobody told me that the best thing I could say to my child wasn’t “let me show you” it was “I wonder.”

The simplest and the most effective parenting tool I’ve used is just these two words.

I wonder why the sky turns pink.
I wonder what this bug is doing.
I wonder what would happen if we tried.

It costs nothing. It takes two seconds. And it completely changes the energy from me teaching, to both of us curious.

Turns out science has a name for this - Approach motivation.

When curiosity leads, children learn deeper and remember longer.

Try this simple trick with your child.
Trust me before you know it, you’re child’s curious mind will surprise you 🙌🙌

An old toothbrush, a dry leaf, and some paint.

That’s it. That’s the whole activity.

And yet we touched sensorial learning, practical life, sustainability, art, and language, all types of learning in one sitting.

There’s something I deeply believe - children don’t need more stuff.

They need more free time and with that comes the power of noticing and the urge to create with materials at hand.

This is what learning looks like before we make it complicated.

If you’re new here - we do a lot of this.
Simple objects, deep learning, zero prep.

Follow along if that’s your kind of thing. 🙌
