🌿 AYURVEDIC PAIN-RELIEF HERBAL POTLI | FORMULATION
A traditional Nirgundi-based Patra Potli, adapted into a dry, shelf-stable formulation for herbal massage and fomentation.
✨ FORMULATION – 100 g
• Nirgundi (Vitex negundo) — 30 g
• Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata) — 15 g
• Dashamoola — 15 g
• Eranda Patra (Ricinus communis) — 10 g
• Shunthi (सोंठ) (Zingiber officinale) — 8 g
• Ajwain (Trachyspermum ammi) — 7 g
• Methi (Trigonella foenum-graecum) — 5 g
• Saindhava Lavana — 5 g
• Sesame-oil-impregnated herbal fraction — 5 g

METHOD OF PREPARATION
1️⃣ Clean and completely dry all herbs.
2️⃣ Powder each ingredient separately.
3️⃣ Sieve approximately through 40–60 mesh.
4️⃣ Weigh each ingredient accurately according to the formula.
5️⃣ Blend all powders uniformly.
6️⃣ Divide into suitable portions and fill into tightly woven cotton/muslin cloth.
7️⃣ Tie securely to prepare the herbal potli.
8️⃣ Store in a moisture-free, airtight container.

🌿 HOW TO USE
Warm the potli gently and always test the temperature before skin application. Traditionally, the area may first be massaged with warm Tila Taila, followed by gentle tapping/pressing and circular application of the warm potli.

⚠️ FORMULATION NOTE: This is a dry commercial adaptation inspired by the traditional Patra Pinda Sweda/Nirgundi Patra Potli approach.

For professional/student formulation use, raw materials should be properly authenticated and tested for quality and microbial safety. Avoid excessive heat and do not apply over broken or irritated skin.

Phase A – Oil & Wax
• Castor Oil — 55%
• Camellia Oil — 5%
• Sweet Almond Oil — 7%
• Avocado Oil — 10%
• Carnauba Wax — 8%
• Beeswax — 7%

Phase B – Colour
• Zinc Oxide — 1%
• Mica — 3%
• Red Mica/Lip-Safe Pigment — 3%

Phase C
• Vitamin E — 1%

🧪 METHOD

1️⃣ Melt oils + beeswax + carnauba wax.
2️⃣ Disperse pigments in a little oil.
3️⃣ Add pigment dispersion and mix well.
4️⃣ Cool slightly, add Vitamin E.
5️⃣ Pour into moulds and allow to set.

💡 FORMULATOR’S TIP:
The oil-to-wax ratio controls hardness, glide & colour payoff. Always make a small pilot batch before scaling.

⚠️ Use only lip-approved pigments/micas. Test stability and product safety before commercial production.
