The Association for Critical Care Sciences (ACCS) wishes to inform the Critical Care Technology fraternity that an RTI application concerning matters related to Critical Care Technology has reached an important procedural stage.
The Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, through its RTI Cell, has transferred the RTI application under Section 6(3) of the Right to Information Act, 2005, to the Additional Director of Health Services (Administration) & State Public Information Officer (SPIO), Swasthya Bhavan, as the information sought is closely connected with the functioning of that office.
The concerned authority has been requested to examine the application and furnish the information directly to the applicant. Where any part of the information pertains to another competent authority, the same shall be forwarded in accordance with the provisions of the RTI Act.
This transfer indicates that the RTI application is being processed by the appropriate public authority. ACCS will continue to follow the matter and share verified updates with the Critical Care Technology community.
We remain committed to promoting transparency, evidence-based advocacy, and the professional advancement of Critical Care Technology.

🚑 8th July | International Paramedic Day

Today, The Association for Critical Care Sciences (ACCS) proudly joins the global community in celebrating International Paramedic Day—a day dedicated to the courageous professionals who stand on the frontlines of medical care.

We also pay tribute to Dominique Jean Larrey (1766–1842), the legendary French military surgeon widely regarded as the Father of Modern Ambulance Services. During the Napoleonic Wars, he introduced the revolutionary concept of "Flying Ambulances" (Ambulances Volantes), enabling the rapid evacuation and treatment of wounded soldiers regardless of their rank. His vision laid the foundation for today's pre-hospital emergency care and modern critical care systems.

The principles of rapid response, organized patient transport, and early life-saving intervention that paramedics (now, allied health professionals) practice today can all be traced back to the innovations of Dominique Jean Larrey over two centuries ago.

At The Association for Critical Care Sciences, we recognize that paramedics (now, allied health professionals) are more than emergency responders—they are the critical first link in the chain of survival. Their courage, quick decision-making, and unwavering commitment save countless lives every single day.

Following the tragic Warehouse Roof Collapse in Taratala, the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal deployed Medical Technologists (Critical Care) to support emergency and critical care services.
