🫁 Why do some people with asthma need biologics?
Asthma is not the same in everyone. 🧬
For some people, asthma remains difficult to control or continues to flare despite optimized standard treatment. In appropriately selected patients, biologics may help by targeting specific inflammatory pathways involved in asthma.
But biologics are not simply “stronger inhalers.” 💊❌
Before considering a biologic, an asthma specialist may look at:
🩸 Blood eosinophils
💨 FeNO
🧪 IgE & allergy sensitisation
🚨 Exacerbation history
🌿 Allergic triggers
🧬 Asthma phenotype
💊 Current treatment
👤 Individual factors
And importantly, biologics do not replace basic asthma care. 🫁
Inhaler technique, medication adherence, trigger exposure and other medical conditions still need to be evaluated and optimized. ✅
🎯 The goal is not simply to add another medicine.
It is to identify the right treatment approach for the right patient.
👉 Swipe through to understand who may be considered for biologic therapy, what factors guide the choice, and what biologics can do.

❤️ World Heart Day 2026 | Anaphylaxis & Heart Health
Did you know that a severe allergic reaction can affect more than just your skin and lungs? It can also impact your heart and circulation.
⚠️ In rare cases, anaphylaxis may trigger a condition known as Kounis syndrome, where an allergic reaction affects the coronary arteries.
🚨 Warning signs you should never ignore: • Chest pain or pressure
• Breathlessness
• Fainting or severe dizziness
• Palpitations
• Sweating or extreme weakness
These symptoms require urgent medical assessment. If they occur during or after an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical care immediately.
❤️ This World Heart Day, remember: Recognising the warning signs early can make a difference.

Our lungs work for us every moment of every day — from our first breath in childhood to healthy aging.
Protecting lung health means reducing exposure to to***co smoke, air pollution, occupational hazards and infections, while supporting healthy habits such as vaccination, physical activity, nutritious food and good hydration.
On World Lung Day 2026, let’s remember: healthy lungs are not just about today — they are about protecting every breath for life. 💙

🌬️ Can Allergy Immunotherapy Actually Help Asthma?
The short answer: For some people with allergic asthma, it may help—but it isn’t for everyone.
Allergy shots (allergen immunotherapy) work differently from medicines that simply relieve symptoms. They aim to gradually modify the immune system’s response to specific allergens such as house dust mites, pollen, or certain animal allergens.
But the key question isn’t simply:
👉 “Is my allergy test positive?”
It is:
“Is this allergen actually contributing to my asthma?”
Before considering immunotherapy, several things matter—including the specific allergen, asthma diagnosis, clinical history, asthma control, and whether immunotherapy is appropriate for that individual.
⚠️ Important: Allergy immunotherapy is generally an add-on treatment, not a replacement for standard asthma treatment. It should not be started when asthma is poorly controlled, and asthma medicines should never be stopped on your own.
🎯 The right patient + the right allergen + appropriate asthma control = important considerations.
Swipe through this post to understand how allergy immunotherapy may fit into asthma management.

🧠 The Allergy–Alzheimer’s Connection: What’s Happening Between Your Nose & Brain?
Could persistent allergic rhinitis be linked to brain health?
A 2026 study from Taiwan found an association between prior allergic rhinitis and Alzheimer’s disease, with the reported risk being 15–30% higher compared with those without allergic rhinitis.
This does not mean that allergic rhinitis causes Alzheimer’s disease. The association highlights an important area for further research.
If you experience persistent: 🤧 Sneezing
💧 Runny nose
👃 Nasal congestion
😣 Itchy nose
🔄 Frequent “colds”
👉 Don’t ignore the symptoms. Get evaluated for nasal allergies and discuss appropriate treatment with an allergist-immunologist.
🧠 Brain health starts with taking your overall health seriously.

🌬️ Nebulizer vs Inhaler: Which One Is Actually Better?
🤔 Is a nebulizer always stronger than an inhaler?
Not necessarily.
Both nebulizers and inhalers can deliver medication to the lungs—but they work differently, and the right choice depends on:
💊 The medicine and dose
👤 The patient
🏥 The clinical situation
💨 The ability to use the device correctly
In this, we explain:
🌫️ How nebulizers turn liquid medication into a mist
💨 How inhalers deliver medication through inhalation
🚫 Why “nebulizer = stronger” is a misconception
💊 Why the doses of medicines used via nebulisers tend to be higher than per inhalation of an Inhaler
🎯 Why correct technique and appropriate device selection matter
⚠️ A nebulizer isn't automatically better or stronger.
The right device depends on the patient, medication, situation, and correct technique.
👉 Swipe through to understand the difference.
🩺 Don't choose a device based on the belief that one is always stronger. Learn the correct technique and follow your doctor's advice.

World Su***de Prevention Day
🧠❤️ Is Allergy a Risk Factor for Su***de?
Severe allergic diseases may be associated with a modestly increased risk of suicidal thoughts and su***de attempts. ⚠️
Chronic conditions such as severe asthma 🌬️, allergic rhinitis 🤧, and atopic dermatitis (eczema) 🩹 can affect much more than physical health.
Persistent symptoms, fatigue 😴, disturbed sleep 🌙, discomfort, and reduced quality of life can take a significant toll on mental well-being. 💭💙
🔬 Research is also exploring how inflammation and immune signaling may interact with the brain and influence mood and behavior in vulnerable individuals.
The risk appears to be more pronounced in people with severe, chronic, or multiple allergic conditions, rather than those with mild or occasional symptoms.
💊 Certain treatments, including systemic corticosteroids, can occasionally cause significant mood changes and should be appropriately monitored.
💙 Allergies deserve to be taken seriously — including their impact on mental health.
🌎 This World Su***de Prevention Day, let's
“Take Allergies Seriously” and support each other compassionately to “Prevent Su***des!” 🫂❤️
🚨 If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please seek immediate support from a qualified mental-health professional or local emergency/crisis service.
