Foils Major Narcotics Smuggling Bid ; 586 Grams of Heroin-Like Substance Recovered ; Accused Arrested, FIR Registered*

July 15``````Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Pulwama Police achieved a major success by recovering 586 grams of heroin-like substance and arresting a drug peddler during naka checking at Tahab Crossing.

During the naka checking, an Intra Auto was intercepted for inspection. Upon thorough search of the vehicle, approximately 586 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from behind the driver's seat. The accused was identified as Masood Ahmad Bhat S/o Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat R/o Kunjipora, Lajoora. He was arrested on the spot, and the contraband along with the vehicle used in the commission of the offence was seized.

Accordingly, FIR No. 132/2026 has been registered at Police Station Pulwama under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, and investigation has been taken up.

Pulwama Police remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance approach against drug trafficking and urges the public to continue supporting the anti-drug campaign by sharing information regarding narcotics-related activities.
