She also holds a BA Diploma. Mia's goal is to empower people and their bodies to heal themself.
MIA: Body Intelligence Lab combines fascia work, mobility, nervous system regulation, structural integration principles, and movement education to help people reconnect with their body and understand patterns differently. Mia is a certified Rolfer Structural Integration, a 5-Star student @Renata Franca, a Matrix-Rhythm-Therapy practitioner, alternative practitioner, Hatha Yoga trainer, Fascia Fitness Trainer.

The interesting question is what happened when the old pattern returned. Instead of immediately labelling the treatment a failure, investigate what your body reorganized around afterwards. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.

It adapts, communicates and moves as one organism. That's why a single โmagicโ technique will always be less interesting to me than understanding relationships. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.

Walking reveals where you rotate, where you don't, which side carries more load and where another part has learned to compensate. Movement makes your patterns visible โ and once you can see them, you can start understanding them. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.

Your shoulder, spine, pelvis, knees and feet don't function as isolated parts. Fascia connects the body into a continuous network, allowing movement, tension and load to influence areas far beyond where you feel them. So instead of asking only, โWhere does it hurt?โ start asking, โWhat is connected to it?โ Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.
The interesting question isn't whether you breathe into your belly or your chest. It's how much freedom your body has to respond to the breath that's actually needed in that moment. Walking uphill shouldn't require the same strategy as sleeping. Speaking shouldn't require the same strategy as lifting something heavy. Adaptability beats perfection. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.
You don't fail body awareness because meditation bores you, breathwork annoys you or anatomy overwhelms you. Different nervous systems, histories and bodies respond to different access points. Curiosity is more useful than forcing yourself through somebody else's favourite door. Find yours. Then keep exploring. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.
A symptom gives you a location. It doesn't necessarily give you an explanation. That's why endlessly zooming in on the painful spot can become frustrating. Sometimes the more useful move is to zoom OUT and ask what the rest of the body is contributing. That's where the map begins. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.

Here is what makes this test useful beyond simply discovering that you sway: reduce the height of the knee until you can control the movement without escaping sideways. That smaller movement is more interesting than forcing the knee higher. Stay there for a moment. Feel the standing foot. Let the standing hip support you. Keep breathing. Lower slowly. Repeat five times before comparing sides. You are separating โI can get my knee upโ from โI can organize myself while I get my knee up.โ Those are two very different abilities. And once you see the difference, you can start training the movement you were previously compensating around. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.
We have been trained to ask: What treatment do I need? I want you to start asking a different question: What is my body actually doing? That shift changes everything. Breath, fascia and movement aren't competing methods. They are different ways of accessing a system that has been adapting to your life for years. You don't need to understand everything on day one. You need somewhere to begin. One doorway. Then another. Until your body stops feeling like a mysterious problem somebody else has to solve for you. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.

Instead of asking who has the next technique, treatment or exercise, start asking what you actually know about the body you're asking everyone else to treat. Where do you compensate? What changes before the pain appears? What makes your body feel more organized? What makes it work harder? And what can you influence yourself? This isn't about rejecting professional help. It's about no longer being a stranger to your own body between appointments. Your body is not broken. It is patterned. And patterns can change.
