THE SWORD AND THE WOUND
Collection by Claire Tilroe

Inspired from 1940s era fashion and fe**sh photography.
Tailoring is a central element, creating a curvy and feminine silhouette while also integrating more masculine shapes, like broad shoulders.

The conservative 1940s tailoring and hem lengths are juxtaposed with black leather and sheer or digitally printed fabrics.

The leather, stockings and cut lines are reminiscent of John Willie’s drawings and fe**sh photographs of Bettie Page.

Fabric choices and digital prints are inspired by the aesthetics of horror movies, such as American Mary and early 2000s Japanese movies like Audition and Pulse.

The goal is to make garments that when worn, almost feel like armor.
A barrier between the self and the outside world.

NERVOUS STILLNESS ON THE HORIZON

A collection born from a research on the somatization of strong, negative emotions, started developing looks based on different layers of bodily constriction.

The first layers of the outfit allow more freedom of movement to the body, which becomes more and more restricted adding the top layers and outerwear.

The base of the mask-headpiece is a traditional Venetian mask, the “moretta”, which covers the wearer’s mouth and was worn by women who had to hold it up by biting on the button hidden inside the mask, therefore having to stay silent.

The inspiration behind the outerwear of this collection goes in the opposite direction, in a way.

FILIPPO BARBAGALLO | Designer Collection

An idea of fashion to drag "men" into their personal research-desire to define themselves based on a deconstruction that varies between shapes and cuts.

The combination of volumes, details and prints are immersed in an imaginary made up of different artistic references, often marginalized by luxury fashion.

The looks have been studied by a continuous interchange of overlapping silhouettes to give life to new characters.

BLACKOUT Collection by Martina Isolde Cerutti

During the Second World War, British people used the term “Blackout” to de- scribe the government regulation that forced them to cover every window with black paint or heavy black sheets.

Thanks to that particular practice, no dim light could stretch itself on the street, making it a difficult job for the German soldiers to localize the houses where to drop bombs.

Every day, when the sun went down, everything sank into darkness.
