Yesterday we spent part of the day getting our OMKTech Survey field team ready for an upcoming exercise. Because when it comes to data collection, having a good system is only half the job. The people going into the field need to understand the questionnaire, know how to approach respondents and, most importantly, know how to record information correctly. Bad data collected using good software is still bad data.

So we went through the process, tested the system and made sure everyone understands what is expected of them before going into the field. Even the reflective jackets and name tags are deliberate. If someone approaches you asking questions, you should be able to clearly identify who they are and who they represent.
