Never let this world and people's inability to see your worth make you lose sight of who you are and who you were made to become. There are points in our life we can be sucked into a dark space in life - perhaps it's broken home, bad break-up, ruined finances, bad decisions etc. - and we choose to stay there converting, trading our light where society often hones the idea that a darker side makes you more noticeable or "cool"; or maybe that it makes you appear more pioneering when it really detracts from all that you were and can become. Every bad decision we've made in life does that. However, choosing to cling to the darkness can lower your heads if aren't mindful of what the darker things negate. So don't stay buying into that idea.

Take a moment to stop and reflect on why light overpowers the dark. Pioneer the zest, zeal and champion that is your spirit. These are not found by clinging to the dark (though darkness has its purpose to develop). They are found where you put your focus and the good you act on that brings those same things - zest, zeal and championing - to another person.

Today, ask yourself where is your focus? What are your eyes and ears affixed on? What are they fueling you to become? Is it good or is it bad?

Focus on the light ahead, within and what surrounds you. It looks good on you too.

We know it seems prevalent that people run with the "winning side" but that doesn't make you any less of a winner nor does it discount your goodness.

Does either of these sayings ring a bell?

"Everybody ain gon like you."
"Everybody ain't your kind."
"Let them run with who they think they're winning with."

That's because you need to remind yourself to keep thriving and striving for greatness irregardless of who is not with you, who doesn't show up and who doesn't applaud your efforts. And while we firmly believe in support and that it makes the difference, the star results can't come unless you believe from within, first. It moreso takes the right kind of people with the right focus to build you up with support. Who remembers the disciples fell asleep when they were to be praying with Jesus to the Father so He doesn't experience the agony of the cross? Lol. True story. It be your own friends, eh?

But at the end of the day you have to motivate yourself to become more than people's idea of you. You have to push pass your limits, failures and the "cultural limits" placed on your mind and your goals... and know you have a lot within you. Try to remove yourself from certain companions that try to distort your idea of self especially those who carry the "crab in a barrel mindset" for they won't pull you up higher nor accept what you bring to the table. It's quite alright to keep them at a distance.

At the end of the day it's about mindset. Your winner's mentality looks from where you're at to the point of where you want to end up. It doesn't matter how long or the the distance if you know where you want to be; it's a runner's mindset except you're the only one competing in your race. But don't run aimlessly. The only person you need on your team is God...[and well... a 5year old and grandma as your surest supporters.]
