Down to earth, natural and committed are just a few words to describe this rare Topaz beauty, hand crafted by the creator himself. Hailing from Newcastle, Queen City, Nevis, is 19 year old Jonieka Fabriana Smithen.

Jonieka was raised in a home where discipline, independence and education were core values and so her education progressed at the Charlestown Primary School, the Charlestown Secondary School, the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and culminated at the Nevis Sixth Form College. From a very early age she had found her calling, recognized through her love of animals, thus this beauty's greatest aspiration is to become a veterinarian. Also listed in Jonieka's future goals, is to attend University to make her aspiration a reality.

Also dear to her heart, are the sensitive issues of our federation, and that is why it her privilege to be a proud advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness, as this is an issue that has touched her directly, as several members of her family have been made statistics of this dreadful disease. It is Jonieka's aim to always use pageantry as a medium to bring awareness to this serious issue of Breast Cancer.

Jonieka's love for pageantry developed through her experience preparing for her past two shows. In the 2008 Culturama festivities, she was crowned Ms Talented youth and in 2015 she entered the Ms Culture Queen Pageant, capturing the evening wear segment.

Jonieka's love for pageantry along with her love for people, strongly influenced her decision to enter the Ms National Carnival Queen Pageant, a show where she can continue to boost her self-esteem and confidence, and build lifelong bonds which is an important factor in bridging the gap between young people in today's society.

Abraham Lincoln once said,” In the end, it's not the years in your life that counts; It's the life in your years.” On that note, come and revel with Jonieka as we feel the rhythm, positive vibes for Sugar Mas 45!
