I ended up in Myeongdong randomly yesterday. I was very overwhelmed with all the people and sights. It was fun tho.

One of the fillings fell out of my tooth. I managed to make it to a dentist only to find out that my NHS wasn't activated yet. I was willing to pay out of pocket, but all of a sudden they couldn't help me because they don't speak English.

Sure Jan, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Informed my boss and bought some temporary filling in the meantime.

So one of the fillings in my teeth that just fell out, I'm going to see how long I can ignore it. But even drinking soju it's quite painful I have three more weeks until summer vacation so we shall see how long I I can deal with it. I got this filling not even a year and a half ago. I need to get my two front teeth replaced because of a botched root canal from the military anyway so I'm not looking forward to any of this.

I just spilled hot tea all over myself...... I'm too restless to sleep but it is very glaringly obvious how tired I am. I'm also still extremely sore from moving this past weekend. 찜질방 and 세신 are calling my name 😩

Moved to a new apartment, lost my nice view, but the new place seems a bit more modern. I'm still sore lol

Never mind the random Korean man is still politely messaging me, lol. I'm just responding with nonsensical things like 토요일~ 비가 와요. (practicing Korean ya know.)

Basically spent the morning cleaning, since the landlord wants to show this room off before I move next week. I also managed to tighten my locks and now it's noon and I have yet to hear when this person is showing up.

The current plan is once I get the call: walk to a coffee shop get some tiramisu, coffee, and draw and practice Korean for about an hour.

I'm so exhausted though, I want to take a nap but I put my new contacts in and I can't sleep in contacts.

The random internet Korean stranger wants to help me move.

I told him if he wants to know where I live so badly he should send me a copy of his ID.

Was my request probably weird? Absolutely

But to be fair so was his. 🤷🏽

I'm just mad I feel this need to finish cleaning tonight and to find somewhere to be while my room is being shown tomorrow.

At least I get a new apartment next week.

The universe really said " Oh you're lonely? Here's a service-oriented, problem-solving, Korean man."

He found and met me at the hospital to help navigate the language barrier and paid my bill since I didn't have my resident card yet y'all 😅 I scolded him when he tried to pay for my prescription the doctor prescribed.

He even wanted to try to fix my bathroom and washing machine but I had to remind him that he is indeed an internet stranger. And to find something else to help me with. So he proceeded to buy me lunch, showed me how the laundromats here work, picked out mold cleaner I can use, and helped me pick out some glasses since I had broken mine that morning.

This was in the span of like 2 hours mind you.

Still recovering from the bug I caught but I can actually talk now even though I'm still hacking up a lung ....so progress. Might find a general doctor this weekend.

I apparently looked and sounded so bad that my director let me know they were looking for a new place for me to stay (by the end of the month. Hopefully?)

I hope my new apartment lets me have views like this. Not only have I seen Jupiter and Venus but the moon has decided to grace me with its presence tonight.

I really was joking about living out a K Drama. And no I've managed to have a whole hospital ARC this past weekend.

I'm not used to this level of attentiveness 😖

Co-teachers are making jokes about how I'm going to get married.

Like he's quite literally just some random guy lol.

Why is a random Korean guy I met at a Korean BBQ restaurant trying to come over and fix my flooded bathroom?

I honestly might let him do it; he seems very service-oriented. The director says I have to wait a month until we can find better accommodations for me.

But I'm highly allergic to mold, and I've developed a cough along with other sinus issues that are spreading to my ears, so I assume I am developing a respiratory infection.

It's been two weeks in a foreign country, and kids aren't clean anywhere, so who knows what's causing my sickness.

I just know I'm sick, I'm wearing a mask, and I'm worried about how much more debilitating this can get as someone who, I don't know, is chronically ill.

And the director wants me to teach the kids how to sing while I'm eating Korean cough drops like they're candy. 🥴

In meteorology news, I can see Venus and Jupiter.

I miss my cat, and the smell of to***co is so tempting lol.

I finally got my ARC number this week, so I hope I'll get my card soon and be able to access the apps to order things online like a normal person because apparently, you need a Korean number to do absolutely anything in Korea, like having a bank account.
