THE MAN BEHIND THE VISION

Meet Augustus Francis — Founder of A1 Optical

I am Augustus Francis. An entrepreneur by determination, an optician by profession, and a brand builder by passion.

My journey in the optical industry began in 2011, when I became Supervisor of the southern branch of Vision Express.

In June 2014, I experienced a major career setback. But instead of allowing that moment to determine my future, I made a decision that would change my life.

I decided to build something of my own.

In October 2014, I opened Discount Optical on Clarke Street in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia.

What started as a small business driven by determination and ambition eventually evolved into the company you know today — A1 Optical.

Over the years, I've developed extensive practical knowledge of the optical industry, working closely with eye doctors, learning from their expertise, understanding patients' eyewear needs, and helping customers make informed decisions about their glasses and lenses.

But my journey has never been limited to optics.

I've learned what it means to manage a business, develop a brand, lead a team, overcome challenges, and earn customer loyalty.

Today, as Managing Director, Optician, and Brand Manager of A1 Optical, I bring together three things that define who I am:

The mind of an entrepreneur. The knowledge of an optician. The vision of a brand builder.

I believe that every customer deserves professional attention, honest guidance, quality products, and exceptional service.

For me, A1 Optical is not just about selling glasses. It's about building relationships, delivering value, and giving people confidence in their eyewear choices.

From our humble beginnings in Vieux Fort to serving customers in both Vieux Fort and Castries, the journey continues.

I am proud of what we've accomplished, grateful to everyone who has supported us, and committed to making A1 Optical a name people can continue to trust.

My name is Augustus Francis. I am the man behind A1 Optical, and I personally invite you to experience the difference.
