How I Explained PCOS To A 5 Year Old:

PCOS stands for Polycystic O***y Syndrome.

But let’s make it simple.

Imagine your ovaries are like a gift shop.
Every month, they’re supposed to wrap up one small egg and send it out.
That egg can one day become a baby.

But with PCOS, the gift shop gets confused.
Instead of sending out the egg, it keeps them all inside.

And they turn into tiny water balloons (called cysts).
The shop gets crowded and messy.

When that happens, the girl may start:
—Skipping her period or bleeding for too long
—Getting more pimples
—Growing hair in places she doesn’t want
—Feeling tired or sad
—And when she grows up, it might be harder to have a baby

It’s not her fault.
Her body just needs help remembering how to work right again.
