Being a Make-up artist goes way beyond the glam. Sometimes it’s about the quiet, meticulous work no one sees.
We analyze, we plan, we research, we design. And finally, we execute.
It takes patience, it takes attention to detail, it takes intention.
Sometimes, as seen in this video, it’s tracing fake tattoos so they can be executed in the best way possible, one detail at a time. Other times it’s fixing continuity between takes. Or creating fake vomit for some party scene..🤷♀️
On set, every tiny detail helps build a believable story and bring a character to life. It’s not just about how it looks in the mirror or on camera, it’s about building trust.
Being a makeup artist behind the scenes means traveling, cleaning brushes, early am calls, night shifts, organizing our makeup kits, being content creators, problem-solvers, accountants, listeners, and artists.
In this industry, the magic lives just as much in the process as it does in the final look. And that is why this art has always been so much more than just makeup.
