Philip Kingsley was created as one of the first trichologically driven hair and scalp range so that your hair will feel and look its absolute best.
With clinics in London and New York and a client list that includes celebrities, politicians and royalty, PHILIP KINGSLEY is widely recognised as the world’s most respected authority on hair and scalp health. He was the person to coin the word ‘bad hair day’ and has been in trichological practice for over 50 years as well as being a Fellow and Past Chairman of the Institute of Trichology. Past and
present clientele include Renee Zellweger, John Travolta, Kate Winslet and Audrey Hepburn who he has treated at his London and New York clinics. After developing an interest in hair and worked in his uncle’s hair salon, Philip Kingsley decided to become a trichologist. He soon recognised the need for a dedicated clinical atmosphere for what in the 1950’s was a taboo subject – hair and scalp problems. In the 1960’s he quickly rented his first consulting rooms and eventually opened his own clinic in London. In response to the demand for his services, Philip took New York by a storm and in 1977 he opened his second clinic in Manhattan. Having enjoyed many years of success Philip decided to create his own Philip Kingsley Products, one of the first trichologically driven hair and scalp ranges. Basing his products on hair textures rather than the prevailing standard of normal, oily or dry, his concept is now widely accepted as the standard by which the industry approaches hair care formulations. Elasticizer and Swimcap are the range’s hero products – the world’s first moisturising treatment applied to hair before shampooing, and a unique intensive protective treatment respectively. Recognising the need to bridge the gap between science and hairdressing, Philip has continued to develop a wide range of award winning hair care products which feature heavily in Harrod’s retail sales. Due to Philip’s outstanding reputation and standards, he has been named ‘The Hair Guru’ by the New York Tmes, ‘The Hair Wizard’ by Vogue and ‘The Hair Doctor’ by The Sunday Times Style. Philip regularly contributes expert advice to newspapers and magazines around the world, and has appeared on many television programmes both in Britain and the United States.
