This is a very cute children's novel. My wife and I were fortunate to get a copy in English from the author while we were visiting in Cancun. Vanessa is a Godsend and "A Straggly Smile" is a wonderful book. We gave it to our 9 year old son who is a busy body and who may be a bit self -conscious about his own straggly smile. It usually takes Transformers, Batman, or hot wheels to hold his attention. Not the case with this book. He has had it for nearly 2 months now and reads it over and over again. It's one of his favorites. My wife has taken it out of his bed with his other favorite, the Marvels Avengers Mix and Match, a number of times. Our seven year old likes it as well but not as much as our 9 year old. He reads it to our three year old twin girls. We are not sure if the girls are fascinated with the book or their big brother reading to them. ;-) All in all we highly recommend "A Straggly Smile" for the little ones ages 3-9. It has a beautiful message for young minds. It teaches that that the things that are unique about a person is what makes them special. regardless if your child has a scar, lost a tooth here or there, or has a straggly smile, we are sure they will love it too.
