Long before G&M existed, Kakadu Plum grew wild across the woodlands of northern Australia. And for tens of thousands of years, it was known, harvested and valued by First Nations communities — for food, for healing, and as part of a deep body of knowledge passed down through generations, on Country.

As an Australian brand that builds on native botanicals, we think that history matters. We didn't discover Kakadu Plum — we were trusted to learn from a wisdom far older than us, and that comes with a responsibility to acknowledge it openly.

Lanolin, petroleum or synthetic — ever wondered what's actually moisturising your skin? Here's the science. 🐑

All three are 'occlusives': they lock in hydration by slowing trans-epidermal water loss — the moisture that naturally evaporates from your skin. On that, they all deliver. The real difference is HOW.

🛢️ Petrolatum (petroleum jelly) is highly effective but completely inert — it forms a protective seal that sits on the surface.

🧪 Silicones leave a smooth, breathable film, but it's a surface effect too.

🐑 Lanolin is the outlier. Drawn from the wool of Australian Merino sheep, it's chemically a close cousin of the lipids your own skin produces. That kinship means it doesn't just sit on top — it blends into your barrier, softens deeply, and can hold around twice its weight in water, much the way healthy skin does.
