DAY 23 — PARENTING 🌱

Teach Your Child How to Handle Disappointment

As parents, we naturally want to make our children happy. Sometimes, when they cry because they didn't get what they wanted, we quickly give in just to stop the tears.

But our children need to learn something important: life will not always go their way.

They may not always get the toy they want.
They may lose a competition.
A friend may say “no” to them.
They may fail at something they worked hard for.

Instead of immediately fixing everything, teach them how to process their feelings.

You can say:

“I know you're disappointed. It's okay to feel sad, but let's talk about what happened.”

Teach your child that disappointment is not the end of the world. It is an opportunity to learn patience, resilience and emotional strength.

Don't raise children who expect life to always be easy. Raise children who know how to keep going when things don't go their way. ❤️

Question for parents:
How do you normally respond when your child doesn't get what they want?

DAY 22 — PARENTING ❤️

STOP COMPARING YOUR CHILD TO OTHER CHILDREN

“Look at your friend. She is already reading.”

“Why can’t you behave like your sister?”

“Your classmate is doing better than you.”

As parents, we sometimes say these things because we want our children to improve. But comparison can do more harm than good.

Your child may begin to believe that they are not good enough. Instead of motivating them, comparison can create low confidence, jealousy, resentment, and fear of failure.

Every child has a different pace, personality, strength, and area where they shine.

Instead of saying, “Why can’t you be like him?”
Try saying, “I know you can improve. Let’s work on it together.”

Correct your child without making them feel inferior.

Discipline the behavior, but protect the child's confidence. ❤️

Remember: Your child doesn't need to be better than another child. They need to become the best version of themselves.

💬 QUESTION:
Have you ever been compared with another child when you were growing up? How did it make you feel?

DAY 21 — PARENTING

🔥
“Teaching your child to say ‘sorry’ is not enough. Teach them what to do after saying it.”

Sometimes we tell children, “Go and say sorry,” and they quickly say, “Sorry,” just to escape punishment.

But a real apology is more than a word.

Teach your child to understand:
👉 What did I do wrong?
👉 How did my action make the other person feel?
👉 What can I do to make it right?
👉 How can I avoid doing it again?

For example, instead of simply saying, “Say sorry for breaking your sister’s toy,” teach them:

“Tell her you are sorry, help her fix it if possible, and be more careful with her things next time.”

This helps children develop empathy, responsibility, and accountability.

Remember, we are not only raising children who can say “sorry.”
We are raising adults who can recognize their mistakes, take responsibility, and make things right. ❤️

What do you think parents should teach children about apologies?
