How to Prepare your Akpuruakpu Egusi for Ofe Achara

Akpuruakpu Egusi can simply be described as lumpy Egusi. It’s another form of assorted meat in soup whereas, all you’ve got is this iconic condiments. It’s quite popular in the eastern region especially UMUAHIA in Abia state where it’s prepared in soup called Ofe Achara.

Ingredients
2 cups of Egusi (Grounded)
1 Medium size Usu(Grounded)
Onions
Fresh pepper
Salt
Water

How to prepare:
Pour the grounded Egusi, Grounded Usu pound together,add your fresh pepper,onions,salt.

Pound until the oil comes out and the mixture is well blended. Add water intervals and knead gently with a pestle, then Mould into small balls.
