Mothers, Listen Up!
🤱 Skipping antenatal care is risky!
Each visit helps detect problems before they harm you or baby.

Smile Therapy 😁💛
👩⚕️ (POV: You just dragged yourself out of bed… tired, cranky, and done with life 😩)
You know those mornings when everything feels off? Yeah, that was me today… until I tried something weird — I smiled. 😅
🪞 Cut to you smiling in the mirror
Turns out, smiling tricks your brain into feeling better! It releases happy hormones — even if you fake it! 💫
🌈 Show a brighter clip or a happy vibe moment
So, when life frowns, smile back. It’s free therapy.💛
When you stop fighting uncertainty, you start growing through it.🌤️
Have you ever had that “handover drama” where both shifts think the other will do it? 🙈

*When Policies Hurt the People Who Heal*
Being a Headnurse is one of the most rewarding roles I’ve ever embraced — but also one of the toughest.
Too often, the workload in hospitals becomes so excessive that it pushes nurses to exhaustion, sometimes leading to mental breakdowns or forgetfulness. These are not signs of weakness, but signs of a system demanding too much from its caregivers.
What makes this burden heavier is when nurse managers enforce harsh policies that seem to benefit the hospital alone, leaving nurses feeling undervalued and frustrated. In such an environment, morale declines — and ultimately, patient care suffers.
But here’s the truth: when nurses are supported, patients thrive. A healthier workforce means safer, more compassionate care.
This is a call for leaders in healthcare to reflect:
🫵 Are we creating environments where nurses feel cared for as much as patients do?
🫵 Are our policies designed with people in mind, not just profits?
Because sustainable healthcare begins not only with patient care — but with caring for those who provide the care.
Let's talk about Staffing in the healthcare system 😲😳😲
💉🏥 POOR STAFFING IN HEALTHCARE: WHO REALLY SUFFERS?
Imagine walking into a hospital with 100 patients… but only 2 nurses on duty.
😷 Who gets treated first?
👶 The baby with a fever?
👩 The mother in labor?
👴 The elderly man struggling to breathe?
This is the daily reality in many hospitals across the world.
👉 Overworked staff. Long waiting times. Burnout. Preventable deaths.
But it doesn’t have to stay this way! ✨
✅ Solutions we must push for:
1. Recruit & train more healthcare workers, investing in the future.
2. Fair pay & better working conditions, because tired nurses can’t give their best.
3. Use of technology, telemedicine, AI, and digital records can reduce workload.
4. Policy change & accountability governments must prioritize healthcare.
💬 Your Turn:
If you had the chance to fix staffing shortages in healthcare, what’s the FIRST thing you would change?
Drop your thoughts below ⬇️ let’s start the conversation that could save lives. 🫶

📖 Part 1: Ada’s School Days
Ada, 12, lives with sickle cell disease. Some mornings she walks into school with a bright smile; other days she fights silent pain.
In class, her teacher notices her hand go up—not to answer a question, but to ask for the school nurse.
-
👩⚕️ Part 2: The Nurse’s Role
In the nurse’s office, Ada finds comfort.
The school nurse checks her temperature, makes sure she’s hydrated, gives her time to rest, and reassures her scared little heart.
Without this care, Ada might miss more school or, worse, face a crisis unrecognised.
🌈 Part 3: Why It Matters
Children with sickle cell disease need more than academics; they need understanding, quick medical attention, and emotional support.
A trained and compassionate school nurse can be the difference between a child falling behind—or thriving despite the pain.
💡 Takeaway:
School nurses are lifelines for children like Ada. Let’s support and equip them to keep every child safe, healthy, and ready to learn.
