World Diabetes Day 2025
It is a day for global awareness campaign to educate people about diabetes, its symptoms, and management. In respect of commemorating the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who discovered insulin.
Today, As a Nutritionist, I want to emphasize some healthy eating and lifestyle habits in preventing and managing diabetes.
—Eat a balanced diet rich in whole foods(natural organic foods) and proteins.
— Make vegetables your best friend.
— Take small slices of fruits
— Stay hydrated and run away from sugary drinks
— Engage in regular physical activity
— Monitor and manage your blood sugar levels

Do you know that?
Frequent urination and sudden changes in behavior can sometimes be linked to very high blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. When sugar levels get too high, it can affect the brain and cause confusion or unusual behavior.
To stay in check,
-Always monitor your blood sugar level
-Maintain a healthy weight
-Exercise regularly and
-Be mindful of what you eat.

IS BEANS IS CARBOHYDRATE OR PROTEIN?
Let’s end this Argument today
Growing up, most of us was taught in school that beans is Protein.
But today, arguments and questions has been coming up whether Beans is a Carbohydrate or Protein.
And my answer is this: “Beans is both”
How?
There are different types of carbohydrate and
Beans is under “complex carbohydrate” and this because they contain a significant amount of starch and fiber.
Beans also contains protein but in just in a small quantity. That’s why beans are often called a “poor man’s meat”
Therefore, Beans contains both carbohydrate and protein but it has more of carbohydrate than protein.
So if you’re asked tomorrow, is beans a carbohydrate or protein?
You sure know what to answer
Bonus tip: Beans is also a healthy choice for diebetic individuals.
