Today, we the Nigerian Medical Association, Oyo State Chapter learnt about “Managing the Difficult Patient.”

The session of my lecture explored:

* Understanding the root causes of challenging patient encounters
* Practical communication strategies to de-escalate tension
* Maintaining empathy and professionalism while protecting our own well-being
• Being emotionally intelligent as a medical doctor to understand our feelings and emotions and be in control of it as catalyst for change in managing difficult patient situations.

As a Family Physician, I’m passionate about holistic, patient-centered care and the vital role communication plays in building trust.
