*Silencing the “If” Loving Beyond Measure*

_“You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in... Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”_ — Luke 7:45–47 (NKJV)
____

In Luke 7:45–47, Jesus contrasts two hearts in the same room.
One man offered Him no kiss, no honor, no affection.
The other—a woman with a broken past—poured out extravagant love.

Jesus explained it with a powerful truth:
“Her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”

This reveals a deep spiritual principle:
Our capacity to love is directly connected to our awareness of grace.

In marriage, this truth is life-changing.
When we forget how much we have been forgiven, we begin to demand perfection from our spouse.
We become critical, easily offended, and slow to show affection.

But when we remain conscious of God’s mercy toward us:
- We become more patient
- More understanding
- More generous in love

A marriage that glorifies God is not sustained by flawless behavior, but by continual awareness of grace.

Sometimes, the struggle in marriage is not that love is absent—it is that gratitude for grace has faded.

We begin to think:
“I deserve better.”
“They should know better.”
And slowly, love becomes conditional.
But Jesus shows us a better way.

The woman did not love because everything was perfect—
She loved because she had been forgiven.

In the same way, when we remember what God has done for us, love begins to flow more freely in our marriage.

We stop measuring.
We stop withholding.
We start pouring out.

🙇🏽‍♀️ *Reflect*
1. Have I lost sight of how much grace God has shown me?
2. Is my love in marriage flowing from gratitude or from expectations

🙏🏾 *Prayer*
Lord, help me to remain aware of Your mercy in my life. Let that awareness shape how I love my spouse. Teach me to love freely

Be grateful for the answered prayers. Be hopeful for what is in store for you. An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards. Things will align for you. Even setbacks are a part of progress. Something amazing is waiting for you.

Wishing you a Glorious Sunday
