THE LIVING WATER DEVOTIONAL
DATE: FRI, SEP 25, 2026
TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE SCRIPTURE
MEMORISE:
And He opened their understanding that they might comprehend the Scriptures. - (Luke 24:45).
READ: Luke 24:44-49 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Jesus is the fulfilment of the law, and the entire Bible revolves around Him. The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed, while the New Testament is the Old revealed. The Law and Prophets talk some much about the coming Messiah, while the gospels and epistles talk about the Messiah who came and showcased the Father. With Jesus, we don't need personal revelation of God because He is the express image of the Father (Hebrews 1:3). He told the disciple who asked Him to show them the Father, that we already have the Father by having Him (John 14:7-11).
No one can have deeper understanding of the Scripture, if they have not known Jesus. Our comprehension of the Scripture will be full when we fully understand that everything the Bible represents is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:14). Just as the disciples of Jesus could not connect between the Old and New Testaments, many people are yet at sea, they find it difficult to realise that Moses and the prophets only released what God revealed to them about Jesus Christ, some with limited understanding of what they even wrote. Christ eventually fulfilled all the prophecies about Him. How well do you know Him?
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, thank You for the revelation of Yourself to the world so that we might be saved.
2. My understanding of the work that Jesus Christ came to do will no longer be deficient, in Jesus' name.
3. Pray that the Church of God in the land would be more focussed on helping people to know the Lord well.

DATE: THU, SEP 24, 2026
TOPIC: TELL THE KING 3
MEMORISE:
Then they said to one another, "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king's household" - (2 Kings 7:9).
READ: 2 Kings 7:1-19 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Samaria was besieged by Syria and this led to famine (2 Kings 6:24-25). When the siege was going to be raised, the LORD had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses – the noise of a great army (v. 6), and so, they fled. To spread the news of this development were four lepers who were at the entrance of the gate (v. 3); men who were excluded from the city because they were ceremonially unclean. On their arrival to the camp, they felt it right not to be self-centred about the discovery of the state of the Syrian camp where they ate and drank. Thus, they informed the King's household through the gatekeepers (vv. 10-11).
Having confirmed the report, the people went out and plundered the tents of the Syrians and a seah of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the Lord (7:1,16). That the news was brought by the lepers doesn't make it less acceptable. If these men that were socially unacceptable couldn't hoard such news that brought a turn around to the economy of Samaria, do you think it is right for you not to inform the appropriate quarters with the necessary information that would move us forward?
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, help me to know that which I am doing that is not right and make amends.
2. In speaking the truth, help me, Lord, not to be silent.
3. Lord, help our leaders to harness information at their disposal.

THE LIVING WATER DEVOTIONAL
DATE: WED, SEP 23, 2026
TOPIC: TELL THE KING 2
MEMORISE:
For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? - (Esther 4:14).
READ: Esther 4:17; 5:1 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Yesterday, we examined the difference between stopping evil at its root, exposing darkness and engaging in gossip. Haman's plot against the Jews arose from his anger at Mordecai, who, as a Jew, refused to bow or pay him homage. This led Haman to plan not only Mordecai's death but also the Jews' destruction throughout the kingdom (v. 6). Esther had earlier successfully delivered Mordecai's message to the king, but this time, the situation was urgent. The king's decree needed to be upturned, yet Esther hadn't been summoned to his presence for days (v. 11). Mordecai's response to Queen Esther's hesitation to approach the king without an invitation is thought–provoking:
- Esther's identity as a Jew meant that she couldn't escape the destruction planned for her people (v. 13).
- If she refused to act, deliverance would come from another source, but she would miss her purpose.
- Her elevation as queen might have been for this very moment of intercession.
Beloved, whether at the gate or in the palace, your purpose is to speak up and protect lives (cf. Genesis 50:20). Embrace this call with wisdom, courage and faith.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, grant me the wisdom and courage to speak boldly during difficult times for the preservation of souls.
2. Help our public servants and leaders to use their positions to serve and uplift the people, O Lord.
3. Pray for more of God's power and presence in CAC Hanson Region, in the life of our father, the Regional Superintendent, other officers and members at various levels, in Jesus'name.

DATE: TUE, SEP 22, 2026
TOPIC: TELL THE KING 1
MEMORISE:
So the matter became known to Mordecai, who told Queen Esther, and Esther informed the king in Mordecai's name. - (Esther 2:22).
READ: Esther 2:17-22 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Exposing evil deeds and doing the work of a talebearer are not the same. The former is a biblical injunction; Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them (Ephesian 5:11 NIV) while the latter circulates rumours that are either distortions of truth or outright lies with the intention to do mischief (cf. Leviticus 19:16; Proverbs 6:16-19). Mordecai was not sitting in the seat of the scornful (Psalm 1:1). Rather, he was on duty at the king's gate (v. 21 NLT).
Some information comes to us at our duty posts. How we handle them shows where we belong a shining light (Ephesians 5:13) or a talebearer. While Queen Esther did not hijack the information in her name, Mordecai was not afraid that the information would be delivered in his name (v. 22). On the side of the recipient, enquiry was made into the matter, and it was confirmed. How do you handle reports from your end? Talebearers would not want their names to be mentioned neither do they want the report to be investigated. All they want, is to gain cheap favour from their listener or to tarnish the image of the person being reported for their own selfish interests. While some information needs our prayers (Genesis 18:22ff), some need to be passed to the appropriate quarters for necessary action.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. I shall be a shining light and not a talebearer, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord Jesus, expose every godless handiwork of talebearers to punitive expose and help them repent.
3. Pray for the finance department of the Church, the Finance Director and staff, as led by the Holy Spirit.

TOPIC: THE IMPORTANCE OF GRATITUDE
MEMORISE:
in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. - (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
READ: Psalm 150 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Gratitude is more than courtesy–it is a spiritual discipline that deepens our faith and aligns us with God's will. On this World Gratitude Day, we reflect on the power of thanksgiving, not as a response to favourable circumstances alone, but as a testimony of unwavering trust in God.
The command to give thanks in all situations (1 Thessalonians 5:18) challenges us to maintain a posture of gratitude, even in difficulties. Life is unpredictable, but gratitude keeps our hearts anchored in God's sovereignty. His plans work for our good (Romans 8:28), and when we shift our focus from what we lack to His abundant provision, our perspective is transformed.
James 1:17 reminds us that every good gift comes from God. Whether in seasons of joy or trial, thanksgiving allows us to see His hand at work, refining our faith. Philippians 4:6-7 teach that prayer with gratitude brings peace, securing our hearts against anxiety. A grateful heart radiates God's goodness, influencing others and drawing them toward His grace.or
Let us cultivate gratitude daily, acknowledging that His faithfulness never fails. Thanksgiving is not mere emotion; it is the language of faith.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, grant me a heart of gratitude that recognises Your hand in every season.
2. Thank You, Father, for Your unwavering provision and faithfulness in my life.
3. Holy Spirit, help me to express gratitude daily, reflecting God's goodness in all I do.

TOPIC: LEARN TO WAIT 2
MEMORISE:
There is hope in your future, says the LORD, that your children shall come back to their own border. - (Jeremiah 31:17).
READ: Psalm 126:1-6 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Waiting makes you a winner, whereas a quitter never waits and can never win. When you are waiting, you are expectant and hopeful. However, you cannot rule out the possibility of anxiety, fear and aggression during the waiting season or period. Waiting time is an agonising experience, which is why the Scripture compares it to someone who sows. When a farmer sows, it can be said that he does so in tears because cultivation is not an easy task. It is not a time for laughter and celebration. When the farmer sows his seeds, he labours rigorously, but very soon, he will laugh.
The Bible encourages those who are waiting eagerly for miracles and joy with the words: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. In fact, there is nothing more rewarding than waiting, because what follows a waiting season is a season of harvest, when you see the fruits of your labour. The excitement of harvest or the fulfilment of your hope should motivate anyone to endure the waiting period. Knowing that, "he who laughs last laughs best" gives you a reason to value and embrace the act of waiting.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, open my understanding to my need for patience, endurance and longsuffering, and to know that maturity and strength comes from these virtues.
2. Lord Jesus, help me to reap the fruit of my labour.
3. Help Your Church, O Lord, to perspire and patiently wait for the coming of the Redeemer, in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: PAUL AND SILAS: MEN OF PRAYER
MEMORISE:
Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer. - (Romans 12:12).
READ: Acts 16:16-24 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Prayer has the power to save and deliver God's people from the captivity or imprisonment of the enemy. In the book of Acts, the Church rose in prayer after James was beheaded by Herod. When Herod saw that killing James pleased the people, he arrested Peter with the intention of executing him after the Passover. However, the Church immediately sprang into action, determined to avert another tragedy after the loss of James. Thank God for the inspiration to pray! Through their fervent and persistent intercessory prayers, a miracle occurred and Peter was set free.
In another instance, also recorded in Acts, Paul and Silas were imprisoned for preaching the gospel. Unlike Peter's situation, there was no Church nearby to intercede for them, so they became their own intercessors. At midnight, these devoted ministers turned to what they knew best–prayer and worship, even during vigils. This should be the lifestyle of every believer. Prayer must become our constant way of seeking God's guidance, wisdom, and direction. Unwavering and unceasing prayer facilitates all-round victory in life (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Let us strive to make prayer our lifestyle and our unshakable connection to God.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord Jesus, help me to imbibe prayer not as compulsion, but a way of life.
2. Lord Jesus, grant me victory over any power that tries to silence my communication with You.
3. Lord Jesus, empower Your Church to pray and experience miracles and victory over the enemy.

TOPIC: THE JOY OF A CHRISTIAN LEADER
MEMORISE:
I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the father. - (2 John 4).
READ: 2 John 1-6 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Letters are more than ink on paper; they carry messages of wisdom, encouragement, and love. On this day after World Letter Writing Day, we reflect on Apostle John's heartfelt letter, fellow believers walk in truth. This joy is where he expressed the joy of seeing the greatest reward for a Christian leader, knowing that those they guide are staying faithful to God.
Christian leadership is not about power or titles but about service. John's words remind us that love and obedience are the foundation of true discipleship. He writes, I ask that we love one another... And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands (2 John 5-6). A leader's fulfilment comes from seeing others follow Christ, not by force, but through love.
Take a moment today to write a letter of encouragement, to a church leader, a fellow believer, or someone needing hope. Words can strengthen faith, remind others they are valued, and inspire them to keep walking in the truth. Leadership in Christ means nurturing hearts, spreading God's love, and guiding others in the way of righteousness.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, thank You for giving us the truth to guide our lives.
2. Father, help me to live according to Your Word and inspire others.
3. Lord, bless our church leaders with strength, wisdom, and a heart for the truth.

TOPIC: THE FOUNTAIN OF UNDERSTANDING
MEMORISE:
Let my cry come before You, O LORD; Give me wake understanding according to Your word. - (Psalm 119:169).
READ: Psalm 119:97-104 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Today, as we celebrate World Letter Writing Day, let us reflect on the most life-giving "letter" ever written: God's Word. In Psalm 119:97-104, the psalmist reveals his deep love and devotion to the Scripture. He describes it as a fountain of understanding that refreshes and nourishes his soul. God's Word provides wisdom, guidance, and insight, lighting the path of those who study it diligently.
The psalmist declares, "Oh, how I love Your law!" His delight comes from the way God's Word gives clarity and guards him from sin. It is not just a book of rules; it is life-giving truth, a source of joy, and a guide for living in obedience to God. As we read these verses, let us be inspired to treasure God's Word as the psalmist did, recognising it as the ultimate source of wisdom and strength.
In our noisy world, filled with competing voices, we must stay grounded in the Scripture. God's Word renews our minds, transforms our hearts, and draws us closer to Him. Make time to meditate on it daily. Let it become your fountain of understanding, bringing you peace and clarity in life's journey.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, thank You for the wisdom and understanding I receive through Your Word.
2. Father, give me the grace to study and meditate on Your Word faithfully.

TOPIC: GOING FURTHER WITH JESUS 2
MEMORISE:
Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, 'Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah' - (Matthew 17:4).
READ: Matthew 17:1-9 (KJV)
EXPOSITION:
Yesterday, we explored how Jesus raised Jairus' daughter and took 3 disciples further with Him. Today, we examine the Transfiguration experience. Jesus took all 12 disciples to the base of a mountain but left 9 behind and went up with 3. This rare experience is only for the chosen few. No wonder they say, 'the top is for the few'. If we want to grow in our Christian journey and experience God more deeply, we must go further with Jesus.
At the top of the mountain, the 3 disciples witnessed God's glory and heard His voice directly. What a divine encounter! What are you experiencing in your Christian walk? Are you seeing God's glory and hearing from Him? Your spiritual experience is closely tied to how far you are willing to go with Jesus. At the mountaintop, the 3 disciples forgot everything below, they were so excited that they wanted to remain there forever!
When will you go further with Jesus to experience His glory and hear His voice directly? Stop depending on what others tell you about God. Crave a closer relationship with Jesus and grow in your faith.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, take me further in my walk with You to experience Your glory.
2. Father, help me leave behind distractions that keep me at a lower level.
3. Pray for CAC Publicity Department, the Director and other staff to help create more awareness about the Church and the Gospel, in Jesus' name.
