BEFORE YOU COMPARE YOUR CHILD WITH DERRICK, ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS.
Before you look at Derrick and say, “But my child should be doing this too,” pause for a moment.
Not every child has the same journey, the same environment, the same opportunities, or the same level of support
So, before you compare your child with another child, look inward first and truthfully answer these questions
1. Is my child getting adequate support?
Am I giving my child the support they need to develop, learn, communicate, move and become more independent?
2. What structure am I putting in place to support my child?
Am I intentionally creating an environment where my child can thrive? Am I seeking the right professionals, therapies, learning opportunities, exercises and resources where necessary?
3. What extent am I willing to go to see my child thrive?
Am I willing to be patient? To learn? To keep trying? To celebrate small progress? To adjust when something isn't working?
Because sometimes, we look at another child and admire the outcome without seeing the work behind the outcome.
You see Derrick today, but you may not see the countless repetitions, exercises, encouragement, patience, support, learning and intentional parenting that helped him get here.
Don't use another child's progress to condemn your child. Use it as inspiration to ask, “What more can I do to support mine?”
Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
And sometimes, the difference isn't that one child is better than another. Sometimes, one child simply has access to the right support, at the right time, in the right environment.
Support your child. Believe in your child. Fight for your child's possibilities. Celebrate every milestone. Your child's journey deserves to be respected too. ❤️

WELCOME, SEPTEMBER 🤍
A new month… another chance to breathe, to hope, to begin again.
I don't know what the past few months have looked like for you. Maybe you smiled when you wanted to cry. Maybe you kept showing up even when you were tired. Maybe you carried responsibilities nobody knew about. Maybe there were prayers you whispered so quietly that only God heard them.
But look at you… you made it here.
September is not just another month on the calendar. It is another reminder that God is not finished with you yet.
May this month bring answers to the prayers you have been waiting on. May doors open where you have experienced rejection. May help locate you in places where you have been struggling alone. May your heart find peace, your home experience joy, and your efforts finally produce beautiful results.
And for every mother who has been fighting battles silently, may September remind you that your little efforts matter. The days you felt you weren't doing enough, the tears nobody saw, the sacrifices you made, the times you chose to keep going when giving up felt easier, none of it is wasted.
This month, may we stop measuring our lives by how far others have gone and learn to appreciate how far we have come. May we have the courage to start again. May we have the grace to wait. May we have the wisdom to let go.
May we have the strength to keep moving.
And above all, may we never lose our faith in the God who has carried us through every season before this one.
September, please be kind to us. 🤍 May this be the month we look back and say, “This was the month everything began to change.” Happy New Month, beautiful people. May September bring you peace, favour, restoration, unexpected blessings and reasons to smile again.
Amen. 🙏🏽❤️
