Sacha Cosmetics was founded thirty years ago in Trinidad by Kama Maharaj and now in Nigeria as Sacha Nigeria through Neo-Michaels Ltd. Today, the brand dominates the local market and is the only line of makeup that can be worn by women with exotic skin, regardless of ancestry. It is distributed throughout the Caribbean and positioned in high-end beauty outlets. From the inception, Kama recognized that women with exotic skin had difficulty finding the right products and colors for their skin tones. Brands catering to the light-skin Caucasian consumer, simply added darker colors for women with exotic skin. Their foundations were too red and caused women with darker skin to look ashy and two-toned. Kama was determined to develop the first line of foundations that would perfectly match exotic skin colors.
