Inspired by women photographers she discovered as a teenager, Gabonese photographer Noelle found her passion in photography and has since developed a unique visual perspective shaped by her experiences abroad and her return to Libreville.
Her work is rooted in finding beauty in familiar places and showing Gabon through her own lens. For her, a powerful photograph is one that makes people feel—whether nostalgia, happiness, sadness, or inspiration.
As a woman photographer in Gabon, she also speaks on the challenges of being taken seriously, navigating misogyny, and having creative work undervalued. And if given the chance to photograph anyone? Michael Jackson, because capturing a legend would be an unforgettable honor.

Green, proud, and unmistakably Nigerian. 🇳🇬💚
The Super Falcons arrived at the WAFCON in style, stepping out in striking green Adire boubous that beautifully celebrate Nigerian heritage and culture.
A powerful blend of tradition, identity, and national pride — the Falcons are not just representing Nigeria on the pitch, but carrying the spirit of home with them every step of the way. 🦅🇳🇬✨

For Dereckcia, inspiration begins with observation.
A self-described “chronic observer,” she draws ideas from the world around her, constantly watching, absorbing, and translating what she sees into creative concepts. When it comes to bringing those ideas to life, moodboards, references, conversations, and even rough sketches become tools for communicating her vision with a team.
As for trends? She prefers to simply create, believing that creativity is subjective and there’s no one right way to approach it.
Her advice to creatives just starting out is simple: stop doubting yourself and create. “God put you on this earth to create.” The more you create, she believes, the easier it becomes to trust your voice and your ability.
Read our conversation with Dereckcia Kandabi as she shares more on inspiration, collaboration, trends, and finding the confidence to create. ✨
