NSUKKA TOWN YOUTHS ASSOCIATION HOLDS SUCCESSFUL JULY 2026 ROTATIONAL MONTHLY MEETING AT ORIE NSUKKA MARKING THE END OF THE ROTATIONAL MEETING AMONG THE THREE QUARTERS OF NSUKKA TOWN (NKPUNANO, NRU AND IHE/OWERRE)

The Nsukka Town Youths Association (NTYA) on Sunday, 5th July 2026, successfully held its Rotational Monthly Meeting at Orie Nsukka, hosted by the Ihe/Owerre Youths Association under the leadership of Hon. Agbo Udoka (Eke).

The meeting witnessed a remarkable turnout of youths from the various autonomous communities in Nsukka Town, reaffirming their commitment to the unity, peace, and sustainable development of the town.

Deliberations during the meeting focused on issues of public interest, including community development, youth participation in governance, scholarships, environmental sanitation, security, and the collective responsibility of young people in driving meaningful progress across Nsukka Town.

Members also reviewed ongoing activities of the Association and explored practical strategies for strengthening grassroots engagement and improving collaboration among the various village/community youth associations.

In his address, the President of the Nsukka Town Youths Association, Comr. Omeje Onyekachi Callistus commended members for their impressive attendance, dedication, and continued support for the ideals of the Association. He emphasized that the strength of Nsukka Town lies in the unity, discipline, and active participation of its youths, urging members to remain committed to initiatives that promote peace, development, and the welfare of the people.

The Association expresses its profound appreciation to the leadership and entire members of the Ihe/Owerre Youths Association for their warm reception, excellent hospitality, and the successful hosting of the meeting.

The Nsukka Town Youths Association remains resolute in its commitment to fostering unity among the youths and partnering with relevant stakeholders to achieve sustainable growth and development in Nsukka Town.

MADUKA ONYISHI FOUNDATION GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME Maduka University Maduka University and College Ekwegbe

The Nsukka Town Federated Union (NTFU) in collaboration with the Nsukka Town Youths Association (NTYA) is pleased to invite applications from qualified and eligible youths of Nsukka Town (Ishi Aya Na'Tegna) for the Maduka Onyishi Foundation Global Scholarship Programme.

This initiative is designed to provide deserving indigent students with the opportunity to pursue quality university education at Maduka University.

Eligibility Criteria

✅ Applicant must be an indigene of Nsukka Town (Ishi Aya Na'Tegna).
✅ Applicant must be indigent.
✅ Applicant must not be above 20 years of age.
✅ Applicant must not have any sibling above 30 years of age.
✅ Applicant must have scored 200 and above in JAMB.
✅ Applicant must possess at least five (5) credits in WAEC/NECO or its equivalent, including relevant subjects required for admission into the programme selected.
✅ Applicant must successfully pass the Maduka Onyishi Foundation Scholarship Screening Examination.

Only Five (5) successful candidates will be selected. Successful applicants will be required to sit for a qualifying examination conducted by the Foundation.

Parents, guardians, youth leaders, community leaders, and the general public are encouraged to share this information widely so that every eligible youth from Nsukka Town can benefit from this unique educational opportunity.

ROTATIONAL YOUTH MEETINGS
Following the resolution reached at the meeting of 15th February 2026, the Nsukka Town Youths Association has approved the rotation of its meetings across the three quarters of Nsukka Town — Nkpunano, Nru and Ihe/Owerre.

This initiative is aimed at bringing leadership closer to the grassroots and strengthening unity and development in Nsukka Town.

*Nsukka Town Youth Association Sets 2026 Agenda, Endorses Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa KSJI, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area for Second Tenure*

Nsukka Town Youth Association (NTYA) under the leadership of Comr. Omeje Onyekachi Callistus officially set the tone for the year 2026 as it rolled out its comprehensive action plan during its first general meeting of the year, held on Sunday (Uka Afor), 18th January 2026, at the Nsukka Town Hall.

The well-attended meeting recorded the presence of community youth leaders, village youth leaders, village representatives, youth stakeholders, as well as members of the Female Wing of the Nsukka Town Youth Association, reflecting the inclusive nature and broad-based participation of Nsukka youths in shaping the future of the town.

Top on the agenda was the unanimous endorsement of the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, KSJI, for a second tenure, following his outstanding track record in community development, youth empowerment and employment, infrastructural advancement, and the effective delivery of dividends of democracy across all nooks and crannies of Nsukka LGA.

Addressing the gathering, Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa emphasized that active participation in governance remains fundamental to democracy, describing democracy as “a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” He urged Nsukka youths to continually engage meaningfully in government programmes and policies in order to fully benefit from governance and developmental initiatives as at when due.

The meeting concluded with renewed commitment by Nsukka youths to unity, responsible leadership, and sustained engagement in governance for the overall progress of Nsukka Town and the Local Government Area at large.

*Interactive Session on Youth Value Reorientation: Nsukka LGA Chairman Hosts Ada Nsukka Beauty Pageant Winners organised by the Nsukka Town Youth Association*

Nsukka Local Government Area witnessed an inspiring and impactful interactive session on youth value reorientation sponsored by the Executive Chairman, Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa under the aegis of Nsukka Town Youth Association led by Comr. Omeje Onyekachi Callistus.

The session brought together the President of Nsukka Town Youth, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the Ada Nsukka Beauty Pageant, Comr. Eze Nnamdi Christian and the newly crowned winners of the prestigious pageant, Miss Adanna, Miss Ekpereamaka and two others that were unavoidably absent.

The session held in a cordial and engaging atmosphere at Adada House Nsukka Local Government Area, the meeting transcended formalities to become a dynamic platform for open dialogue.

Engr. Asogwa emphasized the critical need for value reorientation among the youths of Nsukka, highlighting the role of positive mindset, integrity, community service, responsible leadership and follower ship in driving personal and societal progress.

He commended the Ada Nsukka Beauty Pageant winners for promoting not just physical beauty but also intelligence, cultural pride, and moral uprightness among young women.

The pageant winners shared their experiences and visions, articulating how the platform has empowered them to become ambassadors of positive change and their pet project for the good and development of Nsukka Youth in the Area of *Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Green Nsukka*

The Nsukka Town Youth President Comr. Omeje Onyekachi Callistus and LOC Chairman, Comr. Eze Nnamdi Christian contributed valuable insights on fostering unity, discipline, and entrepreneurial spirit among the youth, while stressing the importance of shunning social vices and embracing education and skill acquisition.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman pledged continued support for youth-oriented initiatives, assuring the gathering of opportunities for collaboration that would yield tangible benefits for the community.

He described the program as a stepping stone towards building a more responsible and empowered generation of Nsukka youths.

The interactive session ended on a high note, with participants expressing gratitude for the Chairman's visionary leadership and commitment to youth development.

It underscored the shared resolve to prioritize value reorientation as a cornerstone for sustainable growth in Nsukka LGA.

Congratulations once again to the Ada Nsukka Beauty Pageant winners and all stakeholders involved in this noble endeavor.

Today, I had the honour of receiving Umuoyo FC, the proud winners of the Ideke League 2025, as they presented their well-deserved trophy.

I welcomed them with great nostalgia and pride, highlighting the core values that led to their remarkable victory.

Umuoyo FC’s success was built on unity, focus, discipline, and unwavering team spirit.

They remained committed to the league, believed in one another, and played as a family—qualities that ultimately lifted them to the top.

This victory is not just for Umuoyo alone but a strong message to all Nsukka youths that when we stand united and remain focused on our goals, success becomes inevitable.

Once again, congratulations to Umuoyo FC. You have made your community and Nsukka Town proud. May this trophy be the beginning of even greater achievements.

Maiden Edition of Ada Nsukka Beauty Pageant / Value Reorientation Programme Records Huge Success

The Maiden Edition of the Ada Nsukka Beauty Pageant and Value Reorientation Programme Among the Youths under the leadership of Comr. Omeje Onyekachi Callistus was successfully held on Friday, 27th December 2025, at De Martins Mirage Resort, Ikpa Road, Nsukka.

The event, which attracted a large gathering of Nsukka youths and distinguished personalities, was deliberately structured in two impactful segments.

The first segment featured the Value Reorientation Programme, where seasoned and respected speakers engaged the youths on critical issues bordering on education, culture, leadership, politics, and moral values. The sessions were insightful, interactive, and thought-provoking, reinforcing the need for a reawakening of values as a foundation for sustainable youth development in Nsukka Town.

The second segment witnessed the keenly contested Ada Nsukka Beauty Pageant, where intelligence, cultural consciousness, confidence, and character took center stage beyond physical appearance. After a fierce but healthy contest, a deserving winner who represented Umakashi Community emerged, alongside the 1st Runner-Up represented Umuoyo Community, 2nd Runner-Up represented Owerre community and 3rd Runner-Up represented Iheagu Community to the admiration of the audience.

The programme was indeed a remarkable outing, filled with colour, culture, learning, and entertainment.

We sincerely appreciate all dignitaries and personalities who honoured our invitation, especially the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, KSJI, who was ably represented by the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Hon. Chinweuba Ngwoke.
