How to Stop Hair Breakage: Start With the Cause
If your hair keeps breaking, don’t just look for a treatment. First, find out why the hair is breaking.
1. Check what you are using to wash your hair.
If a shampoo or soap is making your hair dry and causing breakage, stop using it. Treating the breakage and then going back to the same product will only bring the problem back.
2. Check for excessive tension.
If your hair is breaking because of tight hairstyles, stop making tight braids or styles that pull your roots. Give your hair a break and deep-condition after washing.
3. Deal with excessive dryness.
Dry hair breaks easily. If dryness is your problem, moisturize your hair consistently, even up to 3 times a week depending on what your hair needs.
4. Stop neglecting your hair.
Sometimes the problem is simply lack of proper care. Start paying attention to your hair by washing, conditioning, moisturizing, and handling it gently.
After identifying and correcting the cause, you can also add strengthening treatments to your routine. You can try treatments such as green tea rinses, moringa, coffee rinses, or other suitable herbal treatments.
But remember: a treatment alone will not solve breakage if you continue doing the things that caused it.
Avoid excessive heat.
Avoid harsh shampoos and using liquid soap on your hair.
Reduce tension from hairstyles.
Moisturize and condition consistently.
Handle your hair gently.
These simple precautions can make a big difference in helping you manage breakage and retain your length.
Breakage doesn’t go away by talking about it. Get to work!
And yes, this post is especially for the two ladies who asked me how to treat hair breakage.

So many of you were asking yesterday how to use moringa for your hair, so let me show you a simple way.
Moringa is a nutrient-rich leaf that can be included in your hair-care routine. It may help support stronger hair, reduce breakage, and help you retain your length.
If you have dried moringa leaves that are well-ground into powder, take a few spoonfuls and put them in a small bowl.
Add a little warm water and mix it until you get a thick paste, similar to pap. Don’t add too much water.
Then add about a spoonful of oil and mix properly. The oil helps make the mixture smoother and easier to apply.
Section your hair and apply the mixture to your hair, working through each section.
Cover your hair and leave it for about one hour.
After that, wash it out thoroughly with shampoo and follow with your conditioner.
You can include this treatment in your routine as often as your hair tolerates it.

How to Use Rice Water for Hair Treatment.
You can use your fermented rice water or soaked one .
After washing your hair, apply the rice water to your hair and scalp. Leave it on for about 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Follow up with your conditioner to soften and moisturize your hair.
Use rice water occasionally rather than every week or biweekly. If your hair feels dry, stiff, or rough after using it, stop or reduce how often you use it.

How Often Should You Moisturize Your Hair?
If you have natural hair, moisturizing once in a while is not enough. Your hair needs regular moisture to remain soft, flexible and easier to manage.
For most people, 2–3 times a week is a good starting point. However, your hair may need more or less depending on how quickly it becomes dry.
A simple moisturizing routine:
Start with water or a water-based moisturizer.
Apply your leave-in conditioner.
Seal in the moisture with a light oil or hair butter.
Protect your hair, especially at night.
And please don't wait until your hair becomes extremely dry before moisturizing. Consistent moisture can help reduce dryness and make your hair less prone to breakage.

How to Know Your Hair Is Breaking More Than It Should.
Have you noticed that your hair seems to be getting shorter, thinner, or weaker? These could be signs that you’re dealing with excessive breakage.
You see lots of short pieces of hair whenever you comb or style.
Your ends look thin and uneven, even though your hair is growing.
Your hair feels weak and rough instead of soft and manageable.
Your hair keeps snapping during detangling, especially when you handle it roughly.
Your edges or certain areas are becoming noticeably thinner.
If you notice these signs, don't just keep changing products. Look at how you're moisturizing, detangling, washing, conditioning, and styling your hair. Sometimes the way we handle our hair is the real problem.
