Do you know what a keloid is?
A keloid is a raised scar that develops when the body produces excess scar tissue during the healing process. It can develop after an injury, cut, surgery, piercing or even a minor skin wound.
Unlike ordinary scars, keloids can grow beyond the original wound. They may also cause itching, tenderness or discomfort.
