Extended family sessions are such a lovely way to bring everyone together, especially when grandparents are visiting from abroad.

For this family session in the Zandvoort dunes, everyone’s outfits complimented each other beautifully without looking too matching. Choosing colours that work well together is one of the easiest ways to create a cohesive look in your family photos, especially when you have several generations in front of the camera.

And then there was the rugby ball! Sometimes the best photos come from bringing something personal along to your session. It gave the kids and grandparents something fun to do together and added a little piece of this family’s personality to their photos.

When you’re planning an extended family shoot, don’t worry too much about getting everyone to pose perfectly. Think about the things you enjoy doing together, bring along something meaningful, and leave a little room for the unexpected.

Because these photos aren’t just about remembering what everyone looked like. They’re about remembering who was there, the time you spent together, and the little things that made it your family.

Woerden is centrally located in the Netherlands, which makes it easy for me to travel to families across the country. Whether you’re in Utrecht, Amsterdam, The Hague, Leiden, Eindhoven, Breda or somewhere else in the Netherlands, I can come to you.

And that’s one of the lovely things about an at-home newborn session. You don’t have to pack up your newborn, organise the nappy bag or get everyone into the car. I bring my camera to you, and we photograph your family in the comfort of your own home.

Your baby can stay cosy, you can feed or change them whenever needed, and we can take things at your family’s pace. No studio, no rush, just photos of this new chapter in the place where you’re living it.

Baby Clark’s at-home newborn session in Utrecht was such a special one to photograph.

There is something lovely about welcoming a newborn into the place where family life is already happening. We took our time, followed Clark’s rhythm and photographed the quiet cuddles, sleepy stretches and all the little details that made this season feel like theirs.

Having all four grandparents there made the session even more meaningful. There was so much love in the room as everyone got to hold him, admire him and settle into their new role in his life.

Lifestyle newborn photography at home is relaxed and personal. You do not need a perfectly tidy house or a studio full of props. Your baby’s first home, the people around them and the way this time felt are more than enough.

I loved spending this morning with Clark and his family in Utrecht and documenting these first days together.

Earlier this year, I photographed this family and we had so much fun together. So when Mum came back and said she wanted to book a photoshoot just for her daughter, I already knew this was going to be fun.

The brief: Capture her in her princess era.

So we packed the dresses, drove to a castle in Barneveld and made the entire photoshoot about her.

There was a picnic tea party with all her “knuffels”, plenty of dress changes because obviously one princess dress is never enough and a whole lot of playing, exploring and being completely in character.

No family photos. No “everyone look at the camera”. Just her, doing her thing and getting to be the main character for the day.

Kids change so quickly, and I love creating photos that capture who they are in that particular little chapter of their lives.
