We said it: lanolin is overrated.

For decades, lanolin has been the go-to treatment for sore ni***es during breastfeeding. It's still heavily marketed today. 🐑

But here's the thing...

Lanolin is a waxy substance taken from sheep's wool. It's not suitable for everyone, especially if you're vegan or have allergies. And if it isn't processed properly, pesticide and detergent residues can remain. 🤢

So what does the research say?

Interestingly, studies have found that breastmilk can be more effective than lanolin for healing sore ni***es (Mohammadzadeh et al., 2005). It's natural, readily available, and works with your body's own healing process.

Other research has found lanolin doesn't significantly reduce ni**le pain or improve breastfeeding outcomes (Jackson & Dennis, 2017), while another found no meaningful difference between using lanolin and using no treatment at all (Oliveira et al., 2021). 👀

So, when nature is already giving us effective solutions, why are we still reaching for sheep's wool?

That's why we created Ni**le Nectar.

Instead of relying on lanolin, we chose nourishing plant-based ingredients that soothe, protect and support skin through one of the toughest jobs it will ever do.
