Watch this space... 👀🌺
For a long time, I thought straight hair was the easier option.
Now? I wouldn’t change my curls for the world.
If there’s one thing I hope Hibiscus Hair becomes, it’s a reminder that your natural hair isn’t something to hide or ‘fix’ - it’s something to learn, care for, and be proud of.
Whether your hair is curly, wavy, straight, long or short... it’s yours. And that’s something worth celebrating 🧡
Every curl, wave and coil tells a story.
And they’re all beautiful 🌺
Lav tumas xo
PS - we’re getting closer & closer to launching! Our email whānau gets first access + 10% off … join via the link in our bio.
Less washing.
Less styling.
There are so many benefits to Hibiscus Hair Satin Sleep Bonnets!
(And yes... you’ll spot a very special guest making an appearance at the start of this reel 🐈😂)
Sooo…
“Do satin sleep bonnets actually work?”
For me? Absolutely.
On those busy days when I don’t have time to wash and style my hair, my bonnet helps keep my curls looking fresh overnight, so I can get away with a quick refresh instead of starting from scratch.
Your girl’s busy... and anything that saves me time is a win 💅🏽

This year’s Vanuatu Bislama Language Week theme is:
‘Tokbaot klaemet jenis - Hemi tru samting mo yumi mas lukaotem gud laef.’ 🌺
‘Talk about climate change - it is real, and we must look after life.’
For many of us, climate change can feel like something we hear about on the news. But for Vanuatu, it’s a reality that communities live with every year. Rising sea levels, stronger cyclones and extreme weather don’t just impact homes and livelihoods - they also threaten languages, traditions and culture.
At Hibiscus Hair, our connection to Vanuatu runs deep through our whānau and our heritage. This week is a chance to celebrate the beautiful Bislama language while also recognising why protecting our people, our cultures and our Pacific home matters so much.
Tangkiu tumas for learning with us this week 🫶

We hope you've learnt something new with us this Vanuatu Bislama Language Week 🌺
From Halo Olgeta (hello everyone) to Lav tumas (much love)... and of course Puskat 🐈 (thanks to our little photobomber 😂), it's been so special sharing a small part of the beautiful Bislama language with our whānau.
Language is such an important part of culture, connection and identity, and we're proud to weave a little of our Vanuatu heritage into Hibiscus Hair.
Tomorrow we'll be sharing this year's Bislama Language Week theme and why it's such an important one for Vanuatu. We hope you'll join us 🧡
Tangkiu tumas for learning with us this week.
Lav tumas xo 🌺
Today’s Bislama phrase 🌺
Lav tumas 🧡
Which means: much love.
Short, sweet, and one of our favourites.
Now go spread a little lav tumas today 🫶
Ureparapara (also known as Parapara for short) is the third-largest island in the Banks group of northern Vanuatu 🏝️
This is the place our family’s story begins.
The colours, vibrancy, warmth, and sense of community you’ll find throughout Hibiscus Hair are inspired by the people and culture that make this part of the world so special 🥰
Today’s phrase for Vanuatu Bislama Language Week is: Tangkiu tumas 🧡
Which means: Thank you very much
You’ll see this one a lot here at Hibiscus Hair 🌺
Building Hibiscus Hair has been a community effort from the beginning, and we’re incredibly grateful for every follow, message, and word of encouragement.
👉 Did you know 2026 is only the second year that Bislama has been included in Pacific Language Week here in Aotearoa?!
