Meet Nicole... our calm in the chaos. šŸ¤

If you're the kind of person whose brain has 47 tabs open (and at least three are playing music), Nicole is probably your person.

She has the kind of calming energy that makes you exhale the moment you walk into the room.

Nicole specialises in Relaxation Massage and Pregnancy Massage, and she's incredibly intuitive in her treatments. She knows when your body needs a little extra care, when to simply let you switch off, and when to remind you that it's actually okay to take an hour just for yourself.

She's gentle without being "too gentle," caring without being over the top, and genuinely loves helping people feel better.

Basically... if life has been life-ing lately, book with Nicole. Your nervous system will thank you.

(And yes... she's just as lovely as everyone says she is. šŸ’š)

Matariki has become the one celebration that truly resonates with me.

As a wahine Māori, it feels less like a holiday and more like a homecoming. A time to reconnect with my whakapapa, remember those who have walked before me, give thanks for where I am, and consider where I want to go next.

I sometimes wonder when we became so busy celebrating that we forgot to stop and appreciate what we were celebrating. Christmas, Easter, even commercialised Valentine's Day and Halloween all seem to arrive earlier each year, wrapped up in marketing and shopping. I remember standing in The Warehouse at the beginning of November, looking at Halloween costumes, listening to Christmas carols and seeing Easter Eggs on the shelves. It felt like we were always rushing towards the next holiday, without ever really being present in the one we were in.

Matariki asks something different of us.

It asks us to slow down.

To remember.

To reflect.

To be grateful.

To reconnect - with our whānau, our whenua, our whakapapa, and with ourselves.

For me, that's what makes Matariki so special. It reminds me that the richest parts of life have never been things we can buy. They are the people we love, the stories we carry, the memories we create, and the hope we have for the generations that follow us.

Whether Matariki is part of your culture or you're embracing it for the first time, I hope Matariki offers you a chance to pause. To look up at the stars, remember where you've come from, and move into the year ahead with gratitude, purpose and hope.

Mānawatia a Matariki. ✨

There have been seasons where I thought I'd never find my way back to myself.

Not because I fell.
But because I stayed in the hurt longer than I needed to.

I've learned that healing doesn't happen overnight, and strength isn't pretending everything is okay. It's choosing, over and over again, to keep swimming even when it's hard.

If you're in deep water right now, don't mistake where you are for where you'll always be.

Keep going.
Someone you'll become one day will thank you for it.

We weren't designed for this pace.

Our nervous systems evolved for moments of stress, not a constant stream of emails, notifications, deadlines, traffic, endless scrolling, and being "on" all the time.
Yet many of us spend every day living as though we're in survival mode.

Our world is full of advancing technology where anything can be automated, but there is something it won't take away.

The feeling of another human being ease your body's tension. The feeling of being taken care of.

That's why here at Vital, we think it's so important for us to create a space for feeling safe, even with the whole world is moving so fast

Not all muscle rubs are created equal.

When we recommend a product, it's because we'd happily use it ourselves. And this one we do. At home personally on our own whānau - and in our treatments,

That's why we stock Omrub, a New Zealand made muscle and joint balm created by a clinical muscle therapist using 100% active natural ingredients. No fillers. No preservatives. No unnecessary nasties.

We love using it during our treatments because it's designed to complement your recovery and self-care between appointments. As it's absorbed, you'll notice a gentle warming and cooling sensation that many clients find incredibly soothing.

Whether you're dealing with tight shoulders, tired legs after the gym, or everyday aches from life, Omrub is one of our favourite ways to support your body naturally.

Pop into the clinic if you'd like to try it or ask your therapist if it's right for you.
