I don’t share my story often — if at all — but it is the foundation, passion, and driving force behind everything I’m building.

My why isn’t a trend, a title, or a business plan. It’s lived experience — held with care, shaped by pain, and transformed into purpose.

Eight years ago, it all began on an operating table. Since then, I’ve undergone three major abdominal surgeries — including the removal of both tubes and one and a half ovaries — leaving behind a visible scar

That experience changed everything.
It brought ongoing internal change and pain, and altered the relationship with my body externally — leading to a loss of confidence and moments of embarrassment.

It’s taken years of inner work to navigate those feelings, and even now, they still surface.

For a long time, I believed my only option was to cover it with a large, traditional tattoo — until I discovered this craft.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful to work with world-class products that allow scars to be camouflaged with care and intention — and to support others who are navigating similar journeys.

This journey has also gifted me three of my greatest blessings:
my two miracle babies, and my business.

A full-time māmā of three, based in a small beachside town of Hokitika, Aotearoa - grounded in care, empathy, and lived experience. The business is built using world-class products and precise techniques to ensure every treatment is safe, intentional, and transformative.

A space where healing and artistry meet.

The passion for this mahi is born from my own journey - navigating the loss of self-confidence after abdominal surgery left a scar eight years ago. That experience shaped my understanding of healing as something that extends beyond the physical, guiding every treatment at Nue Haven by Jade.

Nue Haven by Jade is a kaupapa māori-led paramedical tattoo studio located in Hokitika, Te Tai Poutini (West Coast). Guided by the principles of whakaora (healing), manaakitanga (care), and wairuatanga (wellbeing), the studio offers restorative treatments that honour both body and spirit.

Each session is approached as he haerenga tapu — a sacred journey of reconnection and transformation, restoring not only the skin but the sense of self beneath it. Through advanced paramedical tattoo techniques and heart-centred care, clients are supported in a calm, private, and culturally safe environment.
