What Is an Infill?

An infill is a maintenance appointment where we replace lash extensions that have naturally shed and tidy the set so it looks full and even again.

Your natural lashes shed every day, so infills are needed to keep your lashes looking fresh.

How Often Do I Need an Infill?

Most clients need infills every 2–3 weeks.
• 2 weeks: light gaps, still quite full
• 3 weeks: noticeable gaps, standard infill
• 4+ weeks: usually requires a full new set

✨ Infills work best when at least 50% of your extensions are still on.

What Happens at an Infill Appointment?

During your infill I will:
• Clean your lashes
• Remove any outgrown or twisted extensions
• Replace missing lashes
• Rebalance the shape and fullness

This keeps your lashes neat, comfortable, and healthy.

When Is a Full Set Needed Instead?

A full set is required if:
• More than half of your extensions are gone
• It’s been 4 weeks or longer since your last appointment
• Lashes are excessively grown out or tangled
• There is heavy build-up or poor retention

This ensures the best result and protects your natural lashes.

Why Aftercare Matters

Good aftercare = better retention = longer-lasting infills.

Things that affect how long your lashes last:
• Sleeping on your face
• Oil-based products
• Not cleansing lashes
• Rubbing or picking
• Heavy eye makeup

💡 Clients with good aftercare can often go longer between infills.

How Long Does an Infill Take?
• Classic infill: 45-60minutes
• Hybrid infill: 60–75 minutes
• Volume infill: 75minutes

Time depends on how many lashes need replacing.

Important to Know
• Infills are for maintenance, not a full reset
• If too many lashes are missing, a full set may be required
• This is to keep your lashes looking beautiful and healthy

1. Clean lashes are non-negotiable
Arrive with no mascara, eyeliner, or oils. Dirty lashes = poor retention.

2. They should NEVER hurt
Stinging, burning, or pain is not normal

3. Extensions don’t damage natural lashes when done correctly
Damage usually comes from:
• Too-heavy lashes
• Poor isolation
• Picking or pulling them out

4. You must keep them dry for the first 24–48 hours
No showers, steam, saunas, or sweating, this lets the adhesive fully cure/dry

5. Oil is the enemy
Oil breaks down lash glue. Avoid:
• Oil cleansers
• Oily eye creams
• Makeup removers with oil

6. Sleeping position matters
Side and stomach sleepers lose lashes faster or can make your eyes look uneven.
Silk pillowcases help a LOT.

7. Fills are part of the commitment
You’ll need fills every 2–3 weeks. Waiting too long often means a full set again.

Things You May Not Have Known -

• You should still wash your lashes
Clean lashes = better retention + healthier eyes.
(Use a lash-safe cleanser, not face wash.)

• Crying can shorten retention
Tears contain salt and oil, especially in the first 48 hours.

• Not every style suits every eye
Eye shape, natural lash strength, and lifestyle all matter.

• Hormones can affect lash retention
Periods, pregnancy, stress, thyroid issues, or medications can cause faster shedding.

• Lash shedding is normal and can happen every 6–8 weeks as part of your natural growth cycle.
