If you’re sick, please don’t come to your nail appointment. ❤️

I completely understand that it’s frustrating to have to reschedule — but please remember that I am self-employed. I don’t get sick pay, annual leave or holiday pay. What I earn is what I earn, and if I don’t work, I don’t get paid.

So when someone comes to their appointment while they’re unwell, there’s a very real chance that I become sick too. And for me, that doesn’t just mean feeling miserable for a few days.

If I’m too sick to work, I potentially have to cancel a week or two of clients, lose that income, and then try to fit everyone back in while I’m recovering. It creates a huge knock-on effect for both me and my clients.

Your nails are important — I know we all love having them done! 💅🏻 — but they’re not more important than your health, or mine.

If you’re sick, please just message me and reschedule. I promise I would much rather move your appointment than have you come in sick and potentially take me (and my income) down with you. 😅

A little reminder about my cancellation policy. 💕

When you book an appointment, that time is reserved just for you.

As a self-employed nail tech, I don't get paid if a client cancels at the last minute or doesn't show up. I still have the salon heated, my products prepared, and that appointment time set aside. With enough notice, I can usually offer that spot to someone on my waiting list.

Think of it this way... none of us would like to arrive at work only to be told, "You're not needed today, so you won't be paid." That's exactly what a last-minute cancellation means for a small business.

I completely understand that emergencies happen, and I always appreciate honest communication. ❤️

A friendly reminder that I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or appointment changes. Late cancellations and no-shows may incur a cancellation fee in line with my salon policy.

💅 Many things can affect our nails

If your nails have become brittle, are peeling, splitting, lifting, or just don't seem as strong as they once were, there can be many reasons why.

Some common factors include:
✨ Certain medications
✨ Stress and prolonged high cortisol levels
✨ Hormonal changes (including peri/menopause)
✨ Illness or recovery from illness
✨ Nutritional deficiencies
✨ Changes in your overall health

As a nail technician, I'm not a doctor and I can't diagnose medical conditions. What I can do is observe changes in your nails over time and adapt your service to suit what your nails need.

Sometimes that might mean changing the product we use. For example, if your nails are going through a challenging period, we may get better results by switching from a hard gel to a softer gel or a rubber base (which I now offer). Every set of nails is different, and what works beautifully at one stage of life may not be the best option at another.

My goal is always to work with your natural nails, not against them, and choose the products that will give them the best chance to stay healthy and strong. 💕

Your nails are constantly changing, and your nail journey should change with them too.
