Massaging your scalp increases blood circulation to your hair follicles, which helps promote healthy hair growth for dreadlocks.
So if you want longer locks....

Key Benefits 💫

• Boosts blood flow and delivers essential oxygen and nutrients straight to the roots stimulating hair growth
• Distributes natural oils by spreading sebum evenly from the scalp down into the base of your locs.
• Relieves tension by easing tight scalp muscles and reduces daily stress.
• Prevents buildup by gently loosening minor flakes or trapped debris before washing.

How to Do It:
• Use your fingertips: Apply gentle, circular pressure with the pads of your fingers - and don't forget to get in the base of the dreadlock.
• Work in sections: Move slowly from your hairline toward the crown and down to your neck.
• Keep it light: Massage the scalp for 3 to 5 minutes without aggressively rubbing the locs themselves to prevent unwanted frizz

You can massage your scalp with or without oil, or do an oil massage before shampooing, or just massage your scalp in the shower when shampooing. Its up to you.

Good oils:

• Jojoba Oil closely mimics your scalp’s natural sebum. It provides weightless hydration and balances oil production without leaving a greasy residue. (Great for the face too)

• Sweet Almond Oil is extremely lightweight and rich in Vitamin E. It is highly emollient, making it excellent for soothing tight, itchy, or dry scalps.

• Grapeseed Oil is one of the thinnest natural oils available. It absorbs almost instantly, minimizing any risk of buildup.

You can also add 2–3 drops of an essential oil into a tablespoon of your chosen carrier oil:
(Never use these on your skin on their own)

• Tea Tree Oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties to fight dandruff, clear clogged follicles, and prevent buildup.
• Peppermint Oil will give a cooling, refreshing sensation that relieves itching and stimulates localized blood flow.
• Rosemary Oil is highly regarded for stimulating the hair follicles to support stronger hair growth

I do put peppermint and rosemary oil in my dreadlock spray.
My son, who doesn't have dreads, uses it on his scalp to stimulate his hair follicles.

Spiralock hair ties come in different lengths and hold the weight of your dreads better than a hair tie, no damage to your roots. Great for dread buns on top of your head. Caleb uses his to keep his dreads out of the way at work.
