One of the most important things I always explain to my clients is this: the colour you see on the day of the procedure is NOT your final result.

Right after your appointment, your lips will look much brighter, darker, and more intense than the healed colour. This is completely normal.

During the healing process, your lips go through swelling, dryness, peeling, and skin regeneration. As the new skin forms, 30–50% of the pigment will naturally soften and fade, revealing a much more natural “blush” effect underneath.

A lot of people get worried when they see the fresh result and think it’s too strong. But if I only applied a very soft colour from the start, or chose a pigment almost identical to your natural lip colour, once it healed it could fade so much that it would look like nothing was done.

That’s why the first session needs enough pigment and saturation to create a visible healed result after the natural fading process.

Lip Blush is a two-session treatment. The first appointment builds the base colour, and the second appointment perfects the tone, symmetry, and any areas that healed lighter.

The secret to beautiful Lip Blush is trusting the process and being patient with the healing. The fresh result is temporary — the healed result is the goal. ✨💗

Lip blush is so much more than adding colour.

Sometimes it’s about restoring what time, scarring, or natural anatomy has taken away. It’s about redefining faded borders, correcting asymmetry, and creating lips that look balanced while still looking like you.

This transformation is the perfect example. My client’s upper lip had a very pronounced “W” shape, which made her lips appear uneven. In just two sessions, we were able to create a softer, more balanced, and beautifully defined shape while keeping the result natural.

What makes this transformation even more special is that these photos were taken immediately after her second session. There is very little swelling because I use a gentle technique that respects the delicate lip tissue. Some swelling is completely normal, but it is never excessive, and for most clients, it settles within 4 to 6 hours.

My client wanted a little more definition and contour while keeping a soft, natural look.
One thing I always explain is that the first session is not the final result. Every pair of lips heals differently and absorbs pigment in its own way.
That’s why I always prefer to start more conservatively.
I can always add more colour later—but I can’t take it away.
Imagine if I made the lips very bold during the first session and they happened to retain pigment exceptionally well... we can’t simply remove that. That’s why it’s much safer and more professional to build the colour gradually.
After the lips have healed, we can see exactly how much pigment they’ve retained and decide if we need to increase the intensity at the perfecting session.
Of course, if a client specifically wants a bold, vibrant or deeper lip colour, the treatment plan can be adjusted accordingly. But when the goal is a soft, natural result, I always prefer to start lighter and build up if needed.
