Always a pleasure doing one of my OG clients
We always do a half head for Meghan which is done by packing in the highlights getting in nice and close to the scalp . If you want to know what my Milk shake - New Zealand toning formula check out the comments

Sometimes all you need is a partial highlight to pick things up. We didn’t want anything too bright or high maintenance so we went for fine highlights with a face frame. Toned with Milk shake - New Zealand the gloss in 9.03 and 9.17

Using the right products really comes into play when you have your hair chemically treated.
Professional products are often highly concentrated so they will last you a long time. Mine last me months.
In my professional opinion, if you’re spending $250+ on your colour and then buying supermarket shampoo and conditioner , you’re doing yourself a disservice . But that’s just my opinion 😅

Swipe through to see the before and during.
This was achieved with a half head of foils, all scalp slices . Did a root tap of 9.38 and 9.23 and 7.0 with zero lift developer and the ends were tones with the gloss range from Milk shake - New Zealand 9.07 and 10.17.
It’s amazing how dark it looks with the toner on, it’s hard not to rinse it out early but it’s so worth the wait! Thanks Nina for the yummy chocolate too 😊

Loved creating this blonde for Meghan today. I did a partial head of foils to help blend her greys and keep her feeling blonde. I used the Milk shake - New Zealand liquid styler, Ref Stockholm New Zealand heat protector and the Ref Stockholm New Zealand shine spray to style .
My toner was Milk shake - New Zealand 10.07 with a touch of orchid .

Thirsty hair? Let’s fix that. 💦
If your hair is feeling a little dry, dull, or just needs some serious love, the REF Intense Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner duo might just become your new shower staple.
Formulated with organic coconut oil and bergamot oil, this pair delivers deep, lasting moisture without weighing your hair down. Plus, like all REF products, it is 100% vegan, sulphate-free, and packed with colour-preserve system tech to keep your tone looking fresh.
Who is this for?
* Dry or dehydrated hair: Perfect if your ends are feeling straw-like or lacking shine.
* Colour-treated locks: Safe for everyday use without stripping your shade.
* Anyone wanting lightweight moisture: Hydrates deeply while leaving hair soft, manageable, and full of natural body.
* Coarse or frizzy hair types: Helps smooth the hair fibre for a sleeker, healthier finish.
Give your hair the drink of water it’s been asking for. Drop a comment below or pop into the salon to pick yours up! 👇✨

Temu salon finds… and honestly, I’m impressed 👀
I’ll admit I was a bit sceptical, but some of these have been such good additions to the salon without the hefty price tag:
• Glasses sleeve protectors – way cheaper than other suppliers and doing exactly what they should (no more colour stains 🙌)
• Hot tools holder – stuck it on the wall and it’s been perfect for keeping things tidy
• Tint brushes + whisks – great quality, easy to use, and I’m obsessed with the colours
• Light fitting – LOVE the style, gives such a nice vibe and was a fraction of the price
• Sliding door handles – solid, metal, and about half the price of what I’d pay elsewhere
• Metal spice rack – using this to display my demi colours and it’s actually perfect. I label the tops so everything’s easy to grab… already thinking I need another one 👀
Not everything is a win, but these ones definitely are 🤍
This is only a small amount of what I’ve tried… if you want to see more of my Temu salon finds, let me know in the comments 👇
And if you’ve found any good salon buys yourself, I’d love to hear! ✨
Can I claim this on tax?” 👀
I hear this a lot behind the chair — and I get it.
But according to Inland Revenue Department, your hair appointments are considered personal expenses, not business ones.
That means even if you:
own a business
work with clients
or invest in your appearance for work
…it’s still not claimable.
👉 The only exceptions are usually very specific cases like:
actors or performers needing a certain look for a role
hair done as part of a paid photoshoot or production
For most people though — it’s a no.
Always best to check with your accountant for your specific situation 🤍
Box dyed red is no joke 😅
For this client, I kept it low and slow to control the warmth, then added depth back in to create a soft, lived-in blonde.
But here’s the thing — this isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.
Even with box dye, I could tell from her hair assessment that we didn’t need a colour remover this time.
That’s why every colour correction starts with a proper plan 👌
